Hello All
I am in the process of removing the old HH. The instruction is to turn the engine by hand.
I looked in the forum and did not find answers, so here are my questions.
1. Is there risk of engine kicking back ?
2. I am assuming it can not burn fuel and begin to start with the lines...
Hello All
The patch on the outside did not work. I will be buying a new HH and then patching the inside of the old one as a spare.
Thank you all for the advice and encoragement.

I forgot to include:
I did not add the dye to the fuel tank. I drained some from the final filter and used a syringe to inject some into the filter through the bleeder valve.
Heath, I agree this is a temporary repair.

I have not tested the patch yet. I will this afternoon and then make periodic updates as time tests the patch. The Third photo shows the screw driver blade at the bottom of the crack. The best I can describe it the crack runs North-Northwest for about 3/16 inch. I never would have found it...
Hello all
After removing the small plate from the Hydraulic head, I used UV florescent dye and light.
I found the leak. There is a hairline crack about 1/4 inch long. It is lower down than the plate was, not under it. In the morning, I will clean the HH and try to seal the crack with epoxy...
Hello John
Before telling you about the ride from Alamogordo to Cloudcroft, I have to tell you that I do not know when the fuse to my fuel pump blew. The truck kept running. It may have blown before leaving home.
We took Interstate 25 from exit 242 to route 380. On this segment the truck ran...
I is on the left side. It might be a cracked screw or rivet on that side, with the plate diverting the leak.
Can the rivets be ground off to remove the plate?
Or the screws be removed to remove the plate.?
Thank you
Rodger
Infrared dye shows it is coming from under the data plate on the HH. I could not get a real good look but the two screws look like rivets.
I read the procedure to turn up the fuel to learn how to turn it down. I do not understand it. I will read more.
Hoop, how does turning the fuel down...
The leak appears to be from under the plate that the pencil is pointing at.
The fuel is hard to see and harder to photograph.
The center plug or bolt is tight.
Hello All
My multifuel M109's injection pump is leaking fuel. It appears to be coming from under the plate with an arrow showing the direction fuel enters the high pressure lines to the injectors. (on some IP's this has been painted over. It is right under where the six high pressure lines...
hello All
It is running. I drained and bled the filters. Then bled the injectors. Then re bled the secondary filter.
It needed a shot of ether and then my foot to adjust the idle, but after a while it ran fine.
I did fine a fuel leak that appears to be under the direction arrow plate on the...
I have most of the TM's printed and in the truck, I just could not fined the right one. Thank you Woodsplinter. right now the batteries are recharging. I will try later and post results.
