well on my way to this modification. got my hi-steer arms reemed to correct "top" mounting location along with the bigger tierod ends. I also found and bought the correct dropped pittman arm for adding power steering/ hydro assist. i also installed new front springs and new shackles along with...
i have a bunch of stock brake parts if i can help. also FRONT AND REAR drums are "not" interchangeable. ther completely different. and if you take them off the hubs make sure you mark them so they go back on exactly as they came off. the m715 is very touchy in this area. also to turn drums you...
LEE'S TRUCK was very nicely built. when i drove it it had no issues i noticed but then i never had it in 4wd. on the road however it drove like a car..... I believe moving the axle under the springs will add length to the drive shaft and compinsate for the slight increase in pinion angle. going...
truck will mainly be for snow, off roading and light street use. i,am doing a th400/np205 t-case in it so no worries about the trans x-member. its one of my bobber trucks, a little rough but plenty good for a work-play time off road truck. i live on top of a big hill and when it snows theres no...
Thanks, after thinking about this most of last night i realized that so i,am going to just move spring pads to the top and keep pinion angle as as stock. Will have pic's soon

Front spring over axle Modification
I,am about to start on another (stock) d60 M715 front axle referb and I need to do the spring over axle modification. I know the tie rod and drag link needs to be moved to top of hi-steer arms which my machineist is doing now but i have a question for the...
Yea my pooches are a great support to me. These axles are for a friend in danville virgina. He picked them up today. A power lock in the front and rear makes these trucks almost impossible to get stuck. 100% improvement over original and the front p/l isnt harsh on axle shafts like a detroit or...
no, only fellas I,ve reciently talked to from michigan was concernning a m715 engine. also a fella from detroit who I,am helping install a set of 4.56 gears, power steering & correcting a problem with his sbc engine adapter.I try to help everybody I can on things. I get calls from all over the...
Heres some pictures of front axle. The carrier and pinion bearings was plum shot. Worst i,d ever taken out. All the rest was excellent inside. Go figure.....
Got the 4.56's and power lock in along with grade #9 carrier bolts also new knuckle felts and seals, inner axle seals, hub seals, brakes...
Finished up completely on the rear axle refurb. Heres the new coated brake lines and rubber flex line. Sure is a bugger makeing them to form to the axle like the originals and still allow for the 2 offset u-bolts. also finding the correct line clamps was a job also.

a few more pic,s added. FYI on cleanning up m715 brake drums, ALWAYS turn drums "on the hubs" and tighten all lug nuts tight installed backwards( bevel out) to snug drums to hubs. this eliminates drum chatter and ensures trueness between drum and hub. there is no need to remove drum from hub and...
IF IT WAS ME first thing I,d do to that 6.2 is pull the oil pan and check the webing in the block in the crank area. there notorious for cracking....... jmo
