Looking for some ideas/places to mount a couple Jerry cans to the outside of my M101A2. Photos? Ideas? I was thinking of mounting them to the front of the bed.
Thanks
Jeff
My understanding is that GMA will no longer sell unless you are ordering a quantity of 30! I have called them several times for a cover for my M101a2 and that is what I have been told. Am I the only one that is getting this info?
Jeff
I agree with this completely. If one wanted a paint job with 0 reflectivity, better off using CARC. Most on this site just want to make their MV look as close to original as possible, without spending an arm an a leg to do it. I doubt any of our vehicles will be exposed to chemical weapons...
You wouldn't happen to have pictures of your setup would you? Be nice to see it. I will definitely get the liner then.. And maybe look at something like this for a floor.
8 x 12 Olive Drab Temper Tent Tarp 8x12 - Military Tent Tarps
Bringing this one back.....
Ok.. So I am set on getting either a Newer style temper tent or a 16x16 expandable frame tent. Having never seen either up close, can anyone tell me the differences between the newer Vinyl tents (Or whatever material they are "Vinyl-like") and the older canvas...
Mine will have a CO detector, smoke detector, and fire extinguishers on the inside and outside as long as the stove is going. I almost Lost my life last year in a wall tent fire. I say "almost" because I was not in the tent when the tent caught fire. I was 200 yrds away gathering firewood...
Swiss... I couldn't deal with the heat of Georgia!! It is 93 degrees here in MI today and it is killing me. Plus I like the 4 distinct seasons we have here in MI. Even with a terrible economy, I doubt I will ever leave.
Stonepicker... Yeah.. again, I am not sure if I will be able to make it...
Yeah... That may be the route I go with as well. Just unsure if I can make it down to Haspin Rally next weekend and pick one up from Stonepicker.. Been working 12 hour days lately and some time on the weekends.
Does anyone know what stove is suited for the 16x16 Expandable frame tent? Is there a standard issue stove set that is supposed to be used in these tents. If I do end up going the 16x16 route, I would want the proper stove to go with the tent. Also, whatever stove it is, needs to keep me...
Lots of good info here. Thanks guys. Thanks Speddmon. I am wondering how available the liners are for the 16x16 tent? To be honest, the 16x16 is about perfect size for my hunting party of 4 guys (whitetail camp) or 2 guys and a German Shorthair pointer for Grouse season. Time to start...
There is a MGPTS Medium tent for sale here locally for $1200. It includes fabric and frame to set up 18x18 configuration and includes middle section to set up as 18x36 size.

Why do you guys think of this tent?
Again, I am looking...
Thanks for all that responded. I really appreciate that. My main concern is condensation. Are these vinyl tents vented somehow? Also, what is the purpose of the liner? Added protection from the elements? Is it necessary for my application (Deer Camp)? Like I said, I am used to a canvas...
Who knows about Military tents? Looking for something to use for deer hunting in the Upper Peninsula of MI (It gets cold in November!!). I had a 14x17 Davis wall tent from Davistent.com that we have used but lost it in a fire last season. I am now looking for something of similar size but in...
I stand corrected.. You are right. Mig wire has a tensile strength between 70,000 and 95,000 psi. Wish you lived up here. I would have probably taken you up on your offer.
Thanks
Jeff
Thanks guys. I appreciate all the responses. I ended up using the 3m Panel bond on the patch panels and it worked great. Used self tapping screws to hold the panels in place to dry. Will grind off the screws before paint. Looks nice and clean. Unfortunately I don't have photos or I would...
Thanks for the input guys. I know I should pull the welder back out but the monotony of welding/grinding is getting to me. This is really my first major welding project and I just don't want to burn more holes in the trailer nor do I want to have to grind more than normal making other areas...
I widened the wheel wells of my M101a2 trailer and welded everything back together to give me over 48" between the wheel wells. To be honest, my welding is not the best and I had problems with burn through a few times.. Part of the reason was my Mig wasn't set properly and the other reason was...
