There are a few taps around the fuse block ... one is 24v (towards the bottom left), one is 12v non-switched, and another one is 12v switched. I can't remember the location of the non-switched 12v, but I think it's to the right side of the fuse block. Use that, and put in-line a 3amp fuse...
Re: RE: Re: RE: M1008 electrical question
Trying not to sound cocky, but I am 100% sure. I know this from personal experience. If your bulbs are not completing the circuit, the alts will not charge their respective batteries.
The only work around that I know is to locate the wires (that...
From Clinto's last post:
We’re going to depart from the Flying J truck stop at Insterstate 85 and Exit 147. I figure on a meeting time of 0600 and a departure time of 0630. That gives us 30 minutes to fuel up, do final checks, have some breakfast if so desired, take pics and shoot the breeze...
Re: RE: M1008 electrical question
I would just go get yours rebuilt from a local shop; would cost you about $100 each and you would know that you have the right ones. Also, how did you know that the alternator is bad? Does your #2 Gen light come on when you put the Key into the Run position...
RE: fuel sensor...
Ambulancechser, if that is from a civvy model, then it does have a switch - however GM doesn't list a switch, one that goes into the base like the Mil ones ... so i am not understanding this civvy fuel base then.
John, it's just a CUCV thing. This switch is purely a diagnostic tool used with the STE/ICE system. Yeah, I don't think the dealer will know about this. Now, in terms of the base - I am not 100% if the civvy base has the same provisions for such an item - I don't think they do.
You can try...
It would not surprise me if it ended up being the STE fuel pressure switch. One time it was had an ever-so-slightly leak and the other truck, it didn't leak at all. But replaced them and the truck would fire right up.
Good luck, and you will want to get a couple. Chances are, with the OD...
If it's leaking from the drivers side of the base, in between the base and the filter - chances are that it's the STE fuel pressure switch. Its about the size of a quarter, and there is a rubber o-ring that seals it in.
There was a WO back in the early 90's to get them all replaced, but as...
I would agree with Chris; easist way is to use the distribution blocks on the firewall. I would be affraid to use the NATO plug with individual wires from a siren.

From what I known on the CUCVs that I have owned, it's best to go by the TM picture of the fuse panel, as there are some fuses that are used but are either not marked or incorrectly marked (as I can remember, probably more of the former). I believe it's the -20 PM.
HTH,

Clinto, your plan sounds good to me. That is similar to what I did last year. I ran an average of 55-60MPH. I would rather leave Wednesday morning from your starting point. Just my 2cents.

BTW - what I have described above has been my experiences with the turbo-hydra 350 and 400's (obviously the latter is what we have in the CUCVs).
Maybe someone else can chime in with better news and insight ....
Also, see about putting in an external trans cooler as the main reason of the burnt...
Well, with the fluid smelling burnt, I am pretty sure the fluid is loosing or lost it's functionality. At this stage I would recommend dropping the pan, go with a new filter, changing all the fluid and flushing the torque converter, replacing with new fluid and a can of TransX. However, I am...
I not sure how relevant is this, but ....
I put rear-discs on my SS chevelle (non-power), and I used a non-power 4-disc master cynlinder from a mid-70's Corvette and portioning valve from Wilwood. Front and rear disc kit from was Wilwood.
houdel, that is not 100% correct anymore.
GA will only title a vehicle if at the time of registration was presented with a Title (from another state, etc). If the vehicle is older than 1986, you can register the vehicle without a title. Vehicles older than 1986 can be legally sold and owned...
Trying to keep the ego down ... but while Chris does pay me a little for the server and bandwidth for this site, 1/2 of my costs I donate back. Can I get listed too?
