I was simply pointing out that not all items that plug into a cigarette lighter have inline fuses. There are several devices that rely on the fused uplink. I agree that it's a foolish design to rely on fuse for the cig. lighter, but that being said, why risk it? I still think that a 30A...

I ran 14 gauge wire for my stereo and CB hookups. I personally think 10 is overkill; I can't see you drawing that much power for items that would connect to a cigarette lighter outlet. 12 would be about it ... IMHO. -graham
