If your in tank fuel pump is working, turn the power on and open the bleeder on the last in line secondary filter until you get a steady stream of fuel coming out.
Did you change all 3 fuel filters? If you did, and bled the system properly and it still won't start then you might have an issue with your fuel cut plunger sticking, or an issue with your IP.
The engine that's in the truck had the crankshaft break on it. It has a hole in the passenger side of the block and the drivers side also has a hole in it when the bearing cap end of the rod sticking out of the side of it. The other engine I'm not sure, but I do know it has a hole in the block...
I don't think it honestly matters which engine you have, they were all built to the same specifications. There are people who prefer one manufacturer over another, but I'm not sure it truly makes a difference. Now there are "thick deck" blocks which are preferable.
As far as the visual...
I don't have personally have any data to support it, but everything I've read says the C turbo puts out slightly less boost. But you get the awesome whistle sound! It would appear that C turbo's are one of those things where you either love them or hate them. Our '76 has a C turbo on it, and I...
I know! I thought the same thing once we got them hooked up.
Honestly, we're not really sure what the plan with the bobber is at this point. First and foremost I need to get a new engine for it, once we get it running and do some other maintenance work to it, we'll take it from there. We're...
Valid point, and one that I didn't realize. I've seen some trucks around here with obscene asking prices, heck we went and looked at one before we knew any better (in retrospect I'm very glad we didn't buy it).
This is also a very good thing to consider. I can easily see someone getting...
Well we got the bobber and the rest of the parts today, much thanks to Tstates for supplying the 5 ton for recovering the bobber. Everything went well, thankfully the guy we bought everything from had a forklift for loading up all the heavy stuff (namely the spare blown engine). Took a little...
 That is incredible that she still ran... Impressive to say the least. You should send that block off on a burning boat, give it a proper funeral.
As much as this whole ordeal has absolutely sucked (to put it extremely lightly), the silver lining is that a you have given a lot of us on here some inspiration on how to handle a crappy situation. Also made some of the break downs/bad trips not seem so bad in comparison. I hope you and...
Honestly, and not to sound redundant, but its really hard to say without seeing the truck in person. Would need to see if it has any major leaks, how much actual tread is on the tires (these tires come with a TON of tread when new, so to the untrained eye they could seem to have a lot when in...
I'm in Charlotte literally 5 minutes from 77 at the NC/SC state line. Shoot me a PM if you need my number. We're actually going to be out and about tomorrow with our Deuce and a 5 ton doing a recovery.
