In My M1009 with 31x10.5 tires. On the highway I run between 65-70 mph GPS. Sometimes I will run it 75 mph GPS, maybe a few minutes. I try and keep it around 70 MPG GPS.
I also have a tachometer installed. The tach averages around 2600 around 70 MPH. As been mentioned before MPGs really...
Update on adding 3rd battery and battery isolator to my M1009. I think I got everything installed correctly. I did a test and nothing shorted out, or blew up, and my primary battery bank seems to re-charge as normal.
Overall the install was easy and straight forward even for an amateur DC...
KE5EUA,
I understand what your saying now. When I first install the Yaesu to the truck I did my research concerning grounding. I have to say the ground is good. I haven't had any problems or noise issues.
I am upgrading the Yaesu in CUCV to Kenwood D-710 I got at Hamfest. Sending you PM
I...
Hey,
Thank you for congrats on license upgrade. KE5EUA I am not prior military.
Let me better explain my reasoning for adding 3rd battery. Again I am a HAM Radio operator and do a lot of outdoor camping. My girlfriend and I usually do back country camping at Land Between the Lakes. She...
I want to say thanks for everyone's input. I will respond soon with a better explanation, and my plans.
Today has been a long day. For you HAM radio members. I passed my General test today. A celebration with my girl tonight.

To clarify somethings on my Original post.
With my knowledge of DC Electrical connecting a battery isolator should be straight forward.
MarcusOReallyus Thanks for your help. I think I have better understanding on the install. I got confused on the hot wire connection.
The link that...
Hello,
I have a stock 24 volt M1009. I am wanting to add a 3rd battery for 12 volt accessories, and HAM radios. I need some advice concerning connection.
I have created a spot for deep cycle battery. I am looking at a 200 amp Cole Hersee #48162 to be exact.
The hookup seems better...
Not sure exactly where you were in Tipton County? It could have been the guy who restores CUCVs. I bought my CUCV from him 3 years ago. A very nice guy, and pleased with my purchase.
I remember he was located west of Covington and Brownsville. I don't think he is very active on SS.

Hello,
I am looking for a good flex flare wrench for the injector lines. I found one on Amazon but it got a bad review concerning tight spaces on a 6.5
I figured I would ask. Rather than buy something that doesn't work well.
Thank You,

Just FYI
I found that the Feniex Python T4 LED was replaced by the Feniex Cobra T Series.

I agree a bit pricey, but I do like them.

Hello,
I am looking to add a digital volt meter to my CUCV. This is what I think know and researched.
The CUCVS are 24 VDC, but you need something that can handle over 24 VDC. With the engine running the electrical system will be around 28 VDC. Is this correct?
I found a digital voltmeter...
I am located in South Nashville. I don't have room for storage, but I can provide support if needed.
Did you purchase the CUCVs in Clarksville on GL? PM me if you need help.

Thanks everyone for your input.
Warthog,
when you mention the IP Throttle Vacuum Valve. Is that the same as the Transmission Vacuum Regulator Value recently discussed?

Hello,
I would like to get input on spare parts we should consider for backup. The CUCVs are 30 years old and certain parts are getting harder to find or price increase.
For Example a few years ago when John still operated CUCV Electric I bought spare GP cards for $45. Now the cost is higher...
Checking Flea Bay for the $45 NOS part. As with everything it depends on how you search for it.
FYI use search 'AC DELCO CHEVY VACUUM VALVE TRANSMISSION 14057219'
This should find it better. Using the part number alone doesn't work well. It will show you other expensive options.
Good...
Thanks for the advice. I will be replacing my fluid and filter. Now that I know to avoid the flush. Thank You!
I am unable to do proper fluid and filter replacement at my current location. I will have to have someone else do it for me.
Basically drop the pan and replace fluid and filter...
