Thank You everyone for your input. I think I was confused and slightly paranoid.
The vacuum lines and fluid are good. I haven't replaced the fluid or filter. Again I have been told no need to do it, and also read about problem coming up after doing fluid and filter change.
Thank You...
I bought my M1009 about 2 years ago. It always got a good solid firm shifting. Hard but not a real hard shift.
Last week I developed a hard very late shifting issue. My vacuum pump seemed good. Pressure around 22. SO I replaced the Modulator, and it helped some.
After some research on SS...
Congratulations on your new purchase. I have a M1009 as well. live in Middle Tennessee. I have to ask what local department you bought it from?

Hello,
I have owned a M1009 for almost 3 years now. I love my CUCV for my outdoor activities.
I have been doing some brain storming concerning the rear seat. I want some input.
I enjoy my outdoor activities. Most of the time I haul 2 humans and a few dogs. The dogs are 1 large breed (Lab)...
Update from Original Post
It seems my Costco Batteries don't like extreme cold temps.
This morning the temps warmed up to 14 degrees. The GP warm up was slow, but it started up. It makes me feel that I got my CUCV in good shape.
The goal was to test my CUCV in extreme temps, and learn more...
I live in the Middle Tennessee area. The Temps are way below average of this part of the US.
Many other owners are used to the cold weather. In the midsouth its been over 10 years since we have hit single digits temps
It was a great time to see how my CUCV reacted.
At 12pm the temp was 8.4...
If you haven't already read the Barrman post listed above in the sticky's. Lot's of good information You may or may not find the answer to your problem directly. You will learn about the crazy CUCV electrical system. It may lead you to your problem indirectly?
Good Luck.

I replaced mine with AC60G and replaced the terminal ends.
I purchased from local parts store. I have had no issues.
I have never bought from rockauto. I will have to check them out.

After reading several post on here concerning the headlight circuit. I ordered the LMC harness. Installing the harness has been covered before on here and I read several posts. The install isn't that hard, even for a beginner in auto electric like myself.
Everything seems to work great. I...
FYI
AntennaClimber covered how to convert the Rear bus in the M1009 to 12 volt from 24 volt.
I haven't done the conversion, but I did save his original post.

I second what Warthog and K9VIC said. I learned that lesson about engine Block ground the hard way. Cost me a lot of time and frustration.
I was amazed the difference an updated engine block ground made on my 1009.

I just got my Trail Can Tool box last week. I was impressed with the construction. Very solid.
Looks, feels, and built like a typical Jerry Can. How well it holds up? Time will tell.

I ordered a Rampage Trail Can today. When it comes in I will take pictures and post it to this thread.
Also if you are going to the GA Rally in October I will be there. You can see in person.

Sorry I didn't mean to re-post. In my search I found something in a thread concerning tool boxes, dating back to Jan 2011.
I thought I would do a more current post.

Has anyone seen or own a Rampage Trail can? I found them very neat and good fit for my M1009.
From the outside they look like almost identical to your normal Metal jerry can, but open up as a tool box. I found it on amazon for $78.
They are red. I would like Olive green, maybe some olive green...
