Fixed my horn using Mead's fantastic tutorial. The contactor pin was installed backwards.
Installed jack and handle, acquired from Cucvrus, in their respective stowage points.
Thank you Sir.
And finally, rotated my VRV to the midway point. That gave me slightly longer and harder shift points.
Depending on the material of the pop rivet, also called Cherry max rivets, you may be able to pull them manually but it could be tough. We use a pneumatic puller at work.
Google cherry max rivet using the picture search and I think the ninth or tenth picture will show the puller and...
The first one looks like a pan head rivet, second and third are Hi-lock fasteners, Ahab has it right on the fourth and the last are tab washers used to safety nuts. All with the exception of the first are commonly used in aerospace applications.
That looks like a good truck CUCVRUS!
I think that's a solid approach. Fix it up nice, if he wants it again give it back at cost for materials. If he wants nothing to do with it then it's yours. Either way, the gentleman will make sure the truck ends up with you when everything is said and...
Great, that's what I wanted to hear! As far as idling the set, I haven't done that. Actually when I first started it it went up to full RPM until I figured how to get the HZ set. It stays at what should be 1800 RPM while running with slight adjustments to keep HZ at 60.
One question though. All...
It's 1990 Libby with 5100 hours. It has no overhaul date on the data plate but it looks like it's always been covered with the exception of when it was sent to DRMO. I've read on here guys suggesting that these have the potential to run upwards of 20k hours if maintained properly. Would I have...
I would drop in a brand new motor into the old girl. She hasn't failed you in 18 years, she deserves a new motor. She has earned it don't you think?
Take your time rebuilding her old one for the next troop who needs a new heart.
I'm a generator rookie so as far as I know it does 120V (single phase, 2 wire), 120/240V (single phase, 3 wire), 120/208V (3-phase, 4 wire)As of now I've only ran 120V single off the courtesy outlet. I haven't loaded it yet.
I recovered an MEP-002a from Ft. Jackson last week sight unseen. I took the trusty oh-nine and a prayer and drove the four hours to pick it up.
The pics looked good so I figured it would be in good shape. It sure looked great when I got there. All the lights worked, two new tires, fresh coat of...
Who's Atlanta M1009 is this?
I came across this oh-nine at the employee parking deck of an unnamed Atlanta airline (ya, big secret) on Friday.
I thought my co-workers were messing with me and moved my truck somehow until I got a closer look.
If anyone knows who belongs to this truck I sure...
Actually with the advance of more sophisticated and complex aircraft and thier associated systems, aircraft manufacturers began installing master caution and warning annunciators on cockpit glare shields in line of sight of the pilots to alert them to look down at a malfunctioning system. Task...
Man, I've never heard of anyone doing that before. By 40 grams you mean needing said amount added to one side to balance it right? I'm guessing they could add weights to the inside and outside of both rims to get it in.
You can give it a shot but I don't think it will hold. Maybe try some good door seal adhesive if you have some kicking around. Just clean the channel, rubber and glass with alcohol before applying to give it its best chance for adhesion.
They mechanically press the channel onto the window at the factory. Lacking a large enough press some guys have stood the glass on its side and beat the channel on with a raw hide or rubber mallet. You know how fragile that glass is so I wouldn't recommend that method.
I would go with Doug's...
