Thats the other thing I need to add to my tool collection. 6.2 diesel timing light or adapter. Any ideas where to get one these days? Would prefer $80 and under.
You can hear the bed vibrate from outside sitting in traffic along with other things.
To be clear when I say vibration, its a harmonic vibration and EVERYTHING seems to rattling. Gets on your nerves after awhile.
True. It has no symptoms of a bad head gasket or cracked head (yet). I may...
Thanks! I was just reading on that issue too. Possible injector or IP timing. Also read the gas tank can get close to the frame and vibrate badly so I will look at that as well.
Update: Replaced the HB and still have some good vibration while in drive and at a stop. In park or neutral, its a little better, not as bad as in drive. At a light its so annoying I have to shift to neutral for the majority of the noise to go away.
The HB was more work than I expected. My...
Should look good. Its easy to do, just take your time and watch that video. Make sure it comes with hog rings and pliers or get your own. May want to get some 1" foam for the bottom if you re-use the old foam.
Thanks! Yeah I was just looking for a bolt that size to install it with my HB tools. Also need to verify pulley is good. Hopefully Dorman HB is ok to use. Ordered the seal 2 days ago, need to go get it.
Still have a vibration in drive at a stop. Need to look at trans mounts too.
Yeah, I feel the same way about Dashes Direct with the bezel and trim plate fitment. I'm happy with the black urethane doesn't scratch and should never crack like the vinyl. I'm not sure why these companies can't make a proper fitting dash.
The other reviews on OER weren't that good so I kept them off the list. Good input on OER.
Good to know! I just found the thread. Looks the way mine fit. I think Dashes Direct makes the USA1 dashes. Someone else got USA1 dash and it had Dashes Direct name on the box...
I used these at my local parts store. You can probably find them cheaper online but I needed them the same day. Makes a huge difference. Cluster takes 3 and your voltmeter will take 1.
I think you can pull the needle off. This thread shows a guy doing it here although not the right way to...
I don't have the sway bar either no death wobble ever. It's usually the king pin bushings and steering components. I do have a newer stock drag link with maybe 500 miles for sale. I do get body sway but my springs are soft front and rear.
Cleaned up the cluster. Took it all apart, cleaned out the dust, polished the clear lens, painted the needles, replaced trans indicator with an overdrive piece since the factory one was busted and I had it laying around. This will also help when I swap the 4L80e in. Also replaced most of the...
I did the LMC cover. Turned out nice but fitment is not as tight as a custom upholstery shop. I did some new 1" foam on the bottom on top of the frame/springs and re-used the stock bottom foam and just slid the new cover over existing vinyl on the back part. There's a video that goes into...
Thats an idea. Upholstery shop here locally wanted $1000 to wrap it in leather which is out of my budget. I think doing a military green canvas wrap would look good but not sure how it would handle fading.
Yeah NOS with no cracks are rare to find these days.
Looking to replace my dash pad on my m1008 with a black one. Prices can get pretty high by the time you add shipping. From the reviews, looks like OER has bad fitment so staying away from them.
I can't use a cover since my current dash has been replaced already and has horrible fitment...
Yep get a lift for the M1009. I went with 4" Tuff Country EZ ride springs front since they have the lowest spring rate for a softer ride along with 1" zero rates. Shackle flip in the back.
