    Older GM trucks in military?

Came across these pics. Did they use 70's era GM trucks in the Military?

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Yes. Mine no longer bounces or makes a noise. Basically adapting the small red tube from a can of white lithium grease to a piece of rubber with a hole in it like a piece of tube or anything that can seal against the speedometer cable outer housing. Pushes the lube up the housing. No need to...

$1.58 tubing finally fixed my doors. No more slamming.

Ever since I bought the truck, I've always had to slam the doors REALLY hard. I know the plastic bushing was missing form the door strikers but I didn't think it would make this much of a difference. Went out and bought some 1/2" Pex tubing in white at Home Depot for $1.58 for 5 feet. Cut off...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Thanks! 5" total lift. 4" Tuff Country EZ ride with 1" zero rate in the front, 58" F150 springs with shackle flip and 1" zero rates in the back for smoother ride. Tires are 37x12.5x17 and are very affordable for that size.

You have to add the pulse module and order both turn signal stalk and switch. its not cheap but doable. I got a pulse board from a tilt column I may install.

Source for wiper motor with pump

I know that now but did not realize that when I first got the truck and the pump had to be replaced ASAP. All the parts are made to be interchangeable regardless of year.

I'm looking at replacing my belts too for a color change since I'm going all black. My current belts work fine but are a little faded. I found a new set on ebay for $150 for both sides but the only thing is the retractor base on ALL aftermarket seat belts do not match the OEM GM.

I got one from advance auto and used a 30% off coupon. Be sure to get the 84 pump. I tried to get an 1986 pump for my 86 and it was the wrong one.

    CUCV won't start

Yes bleed screw is on top of the top left of the fuel filter base. Open it a 2 to 3 turns. Fuel will come out of the tube to the left of the screw. Pink wire should be here like in this pic. One by the oil fill tube. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/12U0ZWLgIlk/maxresdefault.jpg

    Value of 1986 CUCV M1008

Not sure why the $300 was on the reviews but the truck did sell for $8500. Good feedback was left. But I do see some negative reviews from that seller which may hurt any auction. I have bought and sold vehicles on ebay with no issues. Made $5k on an old Camaro one time. Sold my buddies...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I also had an issue with DIY4x recently. I love the products they make but after placing an order for ez-inch 1" blocks, shackle flip with HD shackles, a week goes by and it hasn't shipped. I called them up and Tracy said they were waiting for the EZ inch pins and might be another week. It...

    Won't start after gel up.

Try to purge the system. I've had to that a couple times. Also had my fuel filter clog up on cold morning and had to replace it which was overdue. 911 additive should help. I don't have an engine heater but I have used a small space heater on the fenderwell next to brake master. The way it was...

Bringing old and faded door panels back to life

Here's a neat tip to restore the door panels. Clear paint. I used gloss since thats all I had laying around but I'd suggest a semi gloss. Before: After
