I do the same with the impact EXCEPT going down. I found out the hard way NOT to put the impact in reverse. Came down so quick it put a minor dent in the trans pan.
I got this jack from HF and used a 25% off coupon so $75. Tried normal jacks in the past and its not safe. Put my 4l80e in with ease on my K5. Also used it on the NP205 with a block of wood for the angle it needs...
I'm curious too. Also what is the electric pump most owners use for the lift pump. Just want something reliable. I would think the 93 6.5 pump would be reliable.
Looks like what the newer 6.5 trucks run. Similar to the ACDelco EP158. Maybe I should run that alone and try it first before spending more $$$. Thanks.
Trying to undo any botched mechanic work on my M1008 and this is one I can't figure out. Why would use 2 lift pumps? Both fuel pumps come on when key is on.
I was going to remove the smaller one on the right. Just wanted to check to see if you guys seen this before or if there's any reason...
I just got these 37x12.5x17 for $170 each. Pretty happy with them so far. They do have 33" for $145 and 31" for $119 each with free shipping.
They also have a less aggressive version and its hard to beat the price.

I'm also having the same problem. Left it parked for 2 days and refuses to start. Have to prime the system. Its also hard to start after 12 hours. This morning nothing worked until I replaced the fuel filter with a new one. Not sure the age or mileage on the old one and been meaning to...
They do transmit more vibration than the factory mount. I'd rather use the stock rubber clam shell engine mounts or even do the energy bushings inside the clam shells. Held fine on a modified 496 BBC.
Yeah the headers would be nice to see. I bet it similar in power to a standard 350 sbc which is usually around 15whp and 25 rwtq. As for the additive I really think it works. Look at this thread here:

I'm tempted to add a single large dia...
Came across this older FourWheeler article today. Kind of interesting to see the HP and torque gain from some mods to the 6.2. I was thinking of adding a single exhaust with 3.5-4" dia. to see if it helps with my NA power along with turning up the pump. Interesting to see the additive makes a...
Can probably be done really cheap with a plastic printer using some high strength plastic. I have a buddy wanting to do it. Its more about keeping these trucks original and saving people the hassle of installing a different fuel neck due to a lost gas cap.
I should see if there is a way to machine something that would screw in like the cucv gas gap BUT has the smaller civi diesel fill hole and accepts standard gas gaps. Basically an adapter made of aluminum.
Anyone know of a machinist that wouldn't charge too much? I know one guy that I could...
Yep. Gas cap is CUCV specific. If you are using a civi gas cap, yours has already been converted. Just look at the pictures above. Much larger dia on the cucv so the military can use a fuel truck for refills.
I was considering an alarm with a remote start and the installer didn't think it would be a problem. He knew about the alternator tach input. I was going to install door lock actuators in the doors and door pin switches so the alarm knows when the doors open. These trucks are pretty easy to...
Thanks Tom. Will look there as well. Hopefully they are not too hard to get to. I do have an engine hoist that can lift up the engine a couple inches.
Ordering one tonight regardless. Thanks!
