Hey Mike, how about a counter to show effectiveness of the classifieds? It should show the number of "visitors".
Also, about the background color, I prefer a black background after signing in for easy reading and most text dissapears in the classified section with this color. Check it please...
I have most of the components to make two of the medium towbars, one of the lunette bars is "fat", the other "normal", anybody know the story (about the fat design)?
Also, I have asked about the sleeves on the towbars and now I see them, right on the cover of the manual, talking about not...
Thought it would be interesting to see actual photos from this time period in order to put some MV colors in perspective.
This image is a slide picture taken by yours truly in 1971 in Korea. Note how dark the M151 is.
Please post other pictures that you may have. I'll try to locate more of my own.
Deciding on the right shade of OD is a big thing when the common colors don't match the original.

The lower portion of the door has original paint on it as far as I can determine.
The other day I put the front axles on blocks, removed the wheels/tires and started to exercise the steering.
Turning the steering wheel was still kind of tough and I'm wondering about the "sealed for life" joints, perhaps a dozed or so in this mechanism.
These kind of joints must be used in...
The manual specifies a transmission fluid filter, AC PF-133-1 and the fluid as Type C2 MIL-L-2104 for the Allison TX200-6.
The best I can do with Google is an AC filter PF1331, but it is not an "element" type it's a spin on, which will not work.
For the fluid, I get Dexron III or type C3. Is...
Jones, when I left your place, you mentioned that there was a tracked vehicle West of the I-5 interstate, perhaps 50-100 miles from you.
Well I thought it might be an M548, but it wasn't, it was larger, at least as seen from the freeway. Perhaps it was one of these (image)....
When plumbing fuel lines for biodiesel, veggie oil and diesel (and gas too for that matter) remember to use the right teflon tape, the yellow stuff, the white doesn't stand up very well.
This is an ex-Navy HIAB equipped International Loadstar 1600 with front wheel drive and floodlight :-).
Snapped these images while visiting with Jon a couple of months ago.
Did some (light) sanding today and found some numbers and letters on the truck.
Shown below is the right front bumper, ""TDC FAS".
Anybody know what they stand for? Pretty sure FAS stands for Field Artillery System, though.
How are numbers repeated when written on the doors, front and rear...
Any special considerations when painting bare aluminum? My XM757 cab tub is all aluminum and is down to bare metal in some places.
Would it be similar to magnesium as explained here...
Perhaps someone can comment on this, I have several images of the XM757/Pershing Erector Launcher vehicle and most display no star. One image does have the star showing, as does my '69 XM757.
Question: When was the star used and what was the base camo color on these vehicles?
This winch, removed from the "homemade" bed of the xm757 is in pretty good shape, it has the wire rope, hook and chain and a sprocket drive.
The (drive)chain and several feet of driveshaft is included plus two other matching sprocket wheels.
Also the rollers, which were welded to the bed.
I'll...
This is the tachograph in "real life". It came from an M52A2 parts truck.
Anybody know anything about the keys needed to open the front and to wind the clock?
Thanks,
Is there such an animal? Say an A084 engine powered hydraulic pump.
Thinking about a engine driven pump for my crane as an alternative.
Not sure, but 20 hp should be enough.
Appreciate any info on this.
Got a turbo for sale. It's a used one, Switzer model 3LJ-319. Don't know the condition of it other than the turbine spins with light finger pressure and the oiler drains easily when oil is poured from top.
A bit rough, but some TLC should be all that's needed.
