I have found three sets of heads out here and all of them where messed up.
I am unable to locate any in my general area.
If anybody has...
So after searching this site for hours a couple nights ago to see what my problem with Gen 2. light not coming on and not charging correctly. I found out it is the little black relay in under the dash in the center right behind the ICE/STE plug. Where would I be able to buy this relay. The only...

What size threads are the Oil pressure and water temp switchs in the block. I need to get sending units for gauges I plan to buy, I really need to know what my engine is doing when I go on this trip in a couple weeks.
Thanks
I put this in the other thread put figured I would get an answer...
Can someone please tell me what size/thread/grade the starter bolt is.
As I was starting to get ready to put my freshly rebuilt starter in I looked at one of the bolts and it didn't look right. I was broken. This is the second time this has happened. When I first go the truck a bolt broke...
So I pulled the started on my M1009 this weekend. The motor has shorted itself internally. The solenoid will click, but when you try to get the motor to spin it sparks like crazy and no motor spin, If you smell the starter it has that burnt electronic smell. So off to the rebuild shop again.
The starter. When testing to see if it spins. There is two big nuts on the solenoid. One that the 24v supplys. The other is to put the power to the starter motor. When you want to jump it you put something metalic across these two post, Correct? And it should spin?
I just want to make sure I am...
Off the top of yalls heads. What should the heads be torqued to?

Thanks

Would a CUCV Start with 23.50 volts??
I went to start mine and it just went click. Checked the voltage and it was at around 23.50 when loaded?
When I got it my back battery was dead one cell. I think the front one is at its staged for replacement.

My M1009 I thought it blew a head gasket. It was blowing some white smoke out the passengers tailpipe that smelled like coolant. Radiator was a little low as well.
But now after sitting for a couple months it seems to be fine, Runs great. No smoke. Like it never happened. Why would it do this...
Ok driving on the highway my i noticed that my cucv didn't downshift at 55 to accelarate, the accelaration was not good. I get off the highway and it was running rough, about 20 mins before this it ran great. So I then pull into a parking lot and it died. I replace the filter and bleed and it...
I munched both my Alternator belts tonight when I was driving. I was wondering about when I go get new ones, about which ones to get. is one a reg alternator belt, and since the other alt is where the A/C would normally be, is that the other one to get?
thanks
This just started up tonight, Sitting at idle in Drive my GEN 2 light flickers a little, if you tap the gas the light comes on then right off, and then flickers lightly some more. Why would it flicker at idle and then come on when you tapped the gas? It doesn't flicker when you are in park.
And...
Ok I have a 1984 M1009 CUCV, It is a kick ass truck, Runs great but when you start it when it is cold is when it gets fun. I tested the Plugs and all 8 are at around 1.4 ohms, So I tested to see if there was voltage coming to the plugs, and nothing, So a friend gave me another relay and I put it...
