I also have a question on this subject. How hard is it to add a second fuel tank to the passenger side of a M1008 or M1028? Will I need to pull the bed for this one?
Looks good! I just wanted to warn you, that with the Skyjacker front springs you may have to buy & install their "Add-A-leaf" kit to them if the truck has it's 6.2 diesel. I installed their 2.5" lift kit and after about 2 months the front sagged real bad! When I called to complain they said...
I wish I could remember where I got mine? It was the easiest body panel I've ever installed on a vehicle! It literally fit perfectly with NO modification. I'll see if I can find a receipt.
Not sure why the 6.2 injectors wouldn't work, Maybe a piston thing? I installed a set of there 6.5 heads on my 6.2 and they have worked fine. And as for the 6.2 lines they will fit, they just sit up a little higher over the valve covers.

Just tack weld the side of the nut, let it sit for 15 seconds so the nut can heat up, (that will loosen the bolt), then undo the bolt. Drill out the nut flange, grind the tack off. Now your ready to weld the hole up, I like to use a washer that fits in the hole and 0.25 wire:beer:
I don't know? this is a tuff one. The M1028-A2's are kind of rare & pretty desirable. The lift, and/or steering doesn't scare me, those are easily fixed. The interior looks to be in really good shape, I figure you would save about $1000.00 or more right there. The only thing that concerns me...
Yeah it's a fancy heat shield that holds the heat in the turbo. The turbo is soo close to the bottom of the battery tray it burst one of the Optima's after about 3 years. I had to clean, sand, etching primer, and paint the battery tray & inner fender. So now the down pipe, turbo, and the battery...
