My M1010 was converted to 12V before I got it but the A/C worked fine. My blower motor and my condenser motors were all 12V. I had to replace the blower motor and look through the catalog at Carquest to find one that would fit right.
All of my lights worked as well, so I'm not sure how much...
I've sold my M1010 and currently don't have a CUCV, but I've gotten a few PM's and emails through this site recently asking for pictures. I don't feel like emailing pictures to the whole world, but I figured a M1010 pic thread would be nice. If you have an M1010 and have some pics, load 'em...
I hear Beasely Knob isn't too harsh. It's up in the mountains close to the Tennessee border in north GA. It's normally closed from Jan-March, and I think it might be temporarily closed right now due to lots of rain. It's a government run park so it's not gnarly rock-crawling stuff.
I've been...
Getting back to the original question, I bought all four of my ProComp ES9000 from 4wheelparts.com for around $130, and that included the shock boots, too. They are also for 0" to 2" lift, so they are longer than stock but don't bottom out on my stock suspension. I've been happy with them...
Can't you just remove the metal cowling between the hood and the windshield? I've never done it on a fullsize chevy but you can do that on the S10's (and I've done that same thing on a few other older vehicles I've had as well).
Once you remove that you can get to the entire linkage.
I love your build. I don't know why the Government didn't order the Blazers with the 1-ton axles in the first place. Blazers just look better when lifted with some real meats on them.
I like you camper trailer too. I carry my camper with me all the time, as it's kind of attached to the rest...
I'd always thought it would be cool to run two air inlets to the headlight buckets and then mount DOT approved lights in the bumper. Kind of a forced-air setup.
Probably not good for water crossings or even rain, however.
Nice setup!
I did a speed test on my M1010 on 37's and I thought the engine sounded bad at anything over 65. I hit 69 and called it quits. Even with 37's, my truck is only really happy at 60 and below. I was expecting a big change in top speed when I installed the large tires and it just didn't seem to...
I found one in the classified section
M1028 Maintenance Body - Steel Soldiers::Military Vehicles Supersite
If the link doesn't work just search for maintenance and you'll find it. It's titled "1028 maintenance body".
Good luck!
I'd just put a want add in the classifieds section here. It seems like a lot of M1031 or a M1010 owners ditch the box at some point.
I know there is a M1010 box listed in the classifieds for sale right now. Around $800.

My wheels are 8" wide with 5" backspacing. They tuck in the fenders really well, but I think 4.5" to 4.75" backspacing is ideal for the steering. I had to adjust my steering stop to keep from tearing up the drag link on full-lock RH turn.

I haven't been in Groton since...
The whole job took me a Saturday morning. I ended up doing the passenger side twice because when I was adding grease my gun wouldn't release the zerk fitting and broke it off. I ended up making two trips to the hardware store.
My stabilizer is from Carquest Auto Parts. It didn't have...
