Yayyyyyyy! I took the old fuel filter off and a nice little stream of gray/ brown diesel came out of the drain hole. Got a new one and fired right up and chugged up a hill doing 35. Much better than the 5 and stalling it was doing before.

I think I have traced the problem not tot eh tranny, but to the motor. Hopefully it is something simple.

How can I check the pump? Also does it make sense that it starts and runs fine in 1st and rev?

Also are the civilian pumps and filter the same.

Does it seem weird that it would all of a sudden go out after not showing any signs of trouble? Also once it goes into second it feels like the brakes are on but after a few seconds of pedal to the floor it will start to go normally. Is this strange or common for a dead gear.

Highway gears?

Ok so i am going to put my transmission into another case tomorrow and am thinking of what else I can do while I am under there. I plan on giving it a new front pump seal, rear crank seal, and the rear seal on tranny. When I go to get these parts what do I tell them? Can I say I need something...

It slams into gear, but I though that was just because it was revving high.

Would the trouble going into 3rd be from the decayed vacuum lines? When I hit 45-50 I have to let off the throttle to get it to shift otherwise it will stay in 2nd.

Is there a way to tell what mine can do without over revving the motor? The only time I need to go on the highway is to get to the mountains 200mi away. Also with the 35's should it be able to go faster or slower with 3.08's?

Wait, if it shifts into 2nd at 30 and then 3rd at 35 2nd seems useless.
