    101A2 Parts Compatability Question

Are the bows and cover for a 101A2 and a 105 trailer the same? Do any of the parts interchange or they two totally different animals? I just picked up a 101A2 to go behind my 1031 and need to get up to speed on the trailers. Smitty

    Scary wobble

Had the problem on my 1031. Replaced the kingpin springs and bushings, but the problem stayed. Replaced my leaf spring bushings with poly bushings because the old ones were shot. That gave me better road feel and raised the truck about 3/4", but the problem was still there. Replaced the tie...

    M1031 Welder

BC - Very cool truck! Mine is like the panel TacticalTruck posted. I was able to look at a manual on base and he's right about the auxillary welder. It would plug into the generator panel. I was under the impression this model worked like the one's mounted on the M887s, but I was wrong...

    M1031 Welder

Does anyone happen to have any specific information on this welder? Make, model, etc? If I can get this info I'm sure I can find something to take it's place. Smitty

    M1031 Welder

Although I've never seen a welder mounted in one of these, it sure would answer a lot of questions on how it would run. The last one I used was an old 887 with the Wisconsin driven generator in the back. Sure would like to lay hands on that manual... Smitty

    M1031 Welder

Re: Welding Cables That thing looks great! I'm real partial to the older trucks 8) I'll grab my camera and try to figure out how to post a photo. If I can figure it out I also have some shots of the new military fire trucks as they are being assembled at the Pierce plant. Pretty...

    M1031 Welder

Re: RE: M1031 Welder I'd love to check the manuals, if I could find a set... I can buy the truck, but the manuals seem to be a deep dark secret. The numbers I have for the manuals are 9-4940-562-13 and 562-23P. Smitty

    M1031 Welder

Does anyone happen to have one of the military M1031 contact maintenance trucks? I have an 86 with the PTO driven generator. This thing is supposed to be set up to stick weld with a cable from the generator control panel. I need to make a set of cables so I can have the weld capability. If...

I need a CUCV key and ignition Cyl.

I may have a set you can have within a couple of weeks. I'm going with a civilian set on my 1031 since there is too much stuff in the back to allow anyone with a CUCV key to drive it off. You're welcome to them once I change mine out. Where are you in OK? I was stationed at Altus a few years...

    M1008 Bed

You didn't happen to get any of the cables that plug into the generator panel with it? I'm looking for the cables and one of the flood lights too. It would be a shame to see that box sold for scrap. I'm sure someone would be able to put it to good use. Smitty

    Wheel Spacer/Adapter Fiasco

Sounds like you need a better impact! I always torque my lug nuts with a good torque wrench because I'm afraid of over torquing with the impact. Once you over torque, there's no going back. Smitty

Putting a cigarette lighter in a CUCV

Made me wonder what the lighter in my Ford is rated at. Checked it and it calls for a 15 amp fuse... Smitty

Putting a cigarette lighter in a CUCV

One more thing that I just thought about. You will need to ensure that this power point is 12 volt on your truck. Mine is 12 volt, but then the whole thing is now 12 volt. According to your schematic you have a few 12volt access points (marked as "12V+") Smitty

Putting a cigarette lighter in a CUCV

Go out, look at your fuse box and you will see the empty space. It is NOT a space for a fuse! Smitty

Putting a cigarette lighter in a CUCV

No. There is a place to insert a male spade terminal below the horn fuse in your schematic. I plugged the wire in there and installed an inline fuse in the wire. Smitty

Putting a cigarette lighter in a CUCV

My feed is from below the horn fuse in your schematic. It is non-switched and I installed a 10 amp fuse inline to the outlet by the ashtray. I don't use it for a lighter, but do use it for accessories. Smitty

Putting a cigarette lighter in a CUCV

I have one installed in my 1031. I'll try to get under there today to see the location I powered it from in the fuse box. Smitty

I need a small part off of a parts cucv.

I don't think I've ever seen a TH400 without an electronic kickdown. Just crawled under my 1031 to make sure. Smitty
