    15w 40 Rotella Vs 30 weight oil

I thought Rotella had just come out with a new "CJ" rating for the 2007 diesel engines. They claim that it's some pretty good stuff, but then it is their oil... Smitty

    Seat Covers

Now to some folks the name of the color might not matter too much. When it comes to us color blind people, the name can be pretty darn important. I could really care less about the color, but I catch hell from the rest of the family if things don't match. This is coming from a guy that will...

    Seat Covers

Re: RE: Seat Covers I'll give them a shot! Does anyone happen to know what the "official" color is? Colors are one of my weak points.... Smitty

    Seat Covers

Are bench seat covers that came from the factory for the CUCVs still available anywhere? The seat bottom is torn on the passenger side in my 1031. I'd like to get it replaced before the foam is damaged. Smitty

    Technical/Operational Help Needed

If you happen to find these particular manuals through a civilian vendor, be sure to share the knowledge! I've also found them online, but I no longer have a .mil address. I'm sure I will locate a set, it just might take a while. I used to like the paper manuals, but I've found the PDF files...

I think I've checked out all of the CD's on Ebay without any luck. I added it to my search list a while back, but have had no hits. Smitty

    Technical/Operational Help Needed

I have Eglin AFB just down the road. I'd rather use them as a last resort since they don't need me getting in their way. I guess I could use it as an excuse to see if I know anyone working in Vehicle Maintenance... 8) 8) 8) Smitty

    Technical/Operational Help Needed

More than willing to pay for the manuals, I hope it didn't come across that I was just trying to scam a set. Where does this phone number connect? I was involved with Vehicle Maintenance in the Air Force for over 26 years and never heard of a Federal Department selling tech manuals to the...

    Technical/Operational Help Needed

Not sure if I'm searching that site correctly, but it doesn't come up with anything for me. It might be another one of those cases where I'm just too technically challenged... :? Smitty

    Spotlight

I have one mounted in the A pillar on a Blazer. It was there when I bought the truck. I don't use it and it just gets in the way. Smitty

    Contact Set Welding Capability??

Is there any way to regulate the amperage while welding? If I remember correctly, there was some type of regulating capability on the old system, but I don't see anything like that on the newer panel. Smitty

    Contact Set Welding Capability??

I know we used to be able to weld with the Shop set on our 887. Does the PTO driven generator mounted on the 1031 still have a welding capability? Smitty

    Technical/Operational Help Needed

Still looking for some tech data or guidance. I finally received the title for the truck and believe I have everything operational. The PTO operates and the generator stays right at 60 cycles. The compressor works fine too. I'm just afraid that I'm going to miss something and burn...

    4 inch Lift for M1008

I put in a 4" Tuff Country EZ Ride lift on a 3/4 ton two years ago. Came with the four springs, shocks, steering arm and hardware for around $750. It has held up well and rides great. I have heard nothing but good about BDS, especially their warranty. Smitty

    another 12/24volt ?

It cost me just over $100 for a new 12-volt gear reduction starter. The rest was just a couple of hours for the conversion. This conversion works for me because I will never need to use the NATO plug. It also eliminated some equipment that could fail in the system (wiring, resistors, and an...

Are you talking about the two resistors mounted on the fire wall, behind the engine? Smitty
