    High idle solenoid acting up?

Yes, that is for high idle adjustment. You can jumper a positive to it and adjust it when warm, or just do it first thing in the morning.

Converting my m1031 to a pickup and lifting it 6" to run HMMWV 24-bolt MT/R's

    1) I would run a steering box brace. ORD makes a good one. 2) Buy the heavy duty rear shackles. With the stock rear setup the shackles are under tension, when you do a shackle flip they are under compression. I'd say it is a must if you plan on hauling firewood etc. 3) Go with crossover...

    Aluminum vs Steel Block heater

I'd pass on those. I like the brass zerostart heaters, or the OEM GM block heater (which I think may be a zerostart) The part number for a 1,000 watt one is 310-0059 Whatever you get be sure to follow the instructions and clean out the hole on the block. Zerostart suggests silicone grease...

    High idle solenoid acting up?

Just change the solenoid and wait to change the switch until the next time you have the coolant drained for some other reason.

Spacers to run hummer tires and rims

2" thick 8 X 6.5" spacers with 9/16" studs. I have not ever bought any, but if I did I would want steel ones. You will need spacers in the back, the tires will hit the inner wheelwell. You can find the aluminum ones for about $110/ pair, the steel ones are more. They can be found online from...

    M1008 6" lift

Good to hear about the lift, but once you scratch up some money you should really think about doing crossover and a shackle flip. I agree that kingpins are a cause of death wobble. But here is my explanation of how crossover can cause death wobble. 1) All OEM crossover steering systems...

    M1008 6" lift

Your rear springs are 56" Soooo. 56"X 2 X pi = 352" If you were to rotate your rear leaf spring around the front eyelet and put a pen in the rear eyelet you would draw a 112" diameter circle that has a circumference of 352" Since there are 360 degrees in a circle we can figure out that for...

    m1028/700r4 swap

Yes... But the 700r4 needs some beefing up first. 1) Sonnax makes some of the best upgrade parts available. I have a Sonnax smart shell in mine, along with a 4l70e servo. There are a bunch of things you should do to one to make sure it does not self destruct. Other thing is I would be leery...

    4.56 vs 4.10 Gears

Good choice. I have 4.88's with 37" tires, it is almost the same as 4.10's with 31" tires. With the 700r4 it almost makes that 6.2 snappy off the line. Also seems to be "right" when pulling mountain grades at highway and freeway speeds.

    4.56 vs 4.10 Gears

What size tires do you plan on running? I had a 700r4 with stock tires and 4.10 gears. I thought it was perfect. If you go with 33-37" tires I'd go 4.56. Stock tires, 4.10 gears 4l80e 60 mph 2068rpm, 75 mph 2585rpm. Stock tires, 4.10 gears 700r4 60 mph 1930rpm, 75 mph 2412rpm Add 10%...

Cracked a TH400 case and support brackets with a NP205

On the passenger side of your transfer case there should be two large threaded holes (about 5/8" dia). On every 73-87 4x4 Chevy besides yours there is a big steel rod bolted to the transfer case there up to the bellhousing. You should be able to go to a pick-n-pull wrecking yard and harvest...

    What kind of injector brand?

I think the Bosch injectors are made in India now. You can find a lot of NOS injectors on auction sites, just be sure to not get the correct fine thread 1983 and newer ones.

    Trans fluid question?

Ever do a second check on your temperature gage? Maybe use an IR gun on your crossover? You may be chasing a ghost.

    M 1009 power steering pulley

So... do you have power steering and power brakes now along with a messy garage floor? Or do you just have a messy garage floor?

    M 1009 power steering pulley

Bleed it. Jack up the front so your tires are off the ground and with the engine off turn it lock to lock a dozen or so times. Fire it up and do the same. Check the fluid level. Should be A-OK after that.

    Block heater making noise

Option 1) Clamp on ammeter would be a good choice if you have one, A 600 Watt block heater should pull 5 amps, A 1000 watt one should pull about 8.3 amps. If you don't have a clamp on ammeter and a cord with separated conductors (you have to clamp over only one conductor) go to option 2...
