That's not a bad idea Stretch. I was contemplating the idea of swapping it out down the road with a diesel, but a propane conversion might be a good idea too...if you get yours changed out, I might want the propane stuff from it. Talk to me before you get rid of it.
I hope that all you guys leaving early have a safe trip...and YOU MAKE ME SICK!!!!! I have to wait until I finish work Tuesday night before I can head down that way.
Well, the turn signal mystery is finally solved, see this post for the full write-up...Turn Signal Issues, Post #13
I was doing some battery wiring for the welder generator in the back when I noticed that the drivers side rear hub was damp after my trip to Kips this week. A quick smell...
Well, I found the root cause of my turn signal problems. The Switch was working but not very good, so replacing it was a good thing. The new one works much smoother. On the advice of "The Great One" (Thanks again Warthog), I checked the actual front turn signal sockets. It turns out where...
This is the style of lugs I have easy access to...
Any lugs can work, I will also bring along the old manual crimper to give any questionable ones a little extra tightening.
This is the style of crimper I will bring, I have dies for any size of lug from #8 up to 500 MCM.

Well, I finally got to take the truck out for a little spin today. I had to deliver my lube trailer out to Kips place for the first leg of it's journey to it's new owner. 171 +/- miles round trip. The trip out was non stop, and when I got there, I felt the hubs up front since I had just...
I was working on mine today. I replaced the flasher switch in the column. What a pain!
After the switch was changed, the lights started acting like the problem the OP was having...they would blink for a bit and then stop. When they were blinking they were really slow. I swapped the flashers...
Was there ever a resolution to this issue?? I would love to know as I am having a VERY similar issue with my 1028/1031.
The turn signals work OK by themselves. I say OK because I do have to wiggle the turn signal lever every now and again to get them to blink. BUT
As soon as I turn on the...
31 volts is not normal. You probably have a DC rectifier/regulator going bad.
Look at the WIKI article, it has information about a lot of the filters and common parts and where to buy them.
And as an option, I sell spin-on adapter kits for the oil filter.
