The bent pushrod doesn't sound good. Since you were turning it by hand, did it feel like it was building any compression? If so, try to adjust the valves and give it a go.
I'm sure he will, as said before, he is a stand up guy. I know he's had some issues with his storefront in the past and USPS issues, so maybe he just never received the order or e-mails???? I'm sure you guys will get it taken care of.
Find a distributor for Ilsco brand split bolts. They should have the size you need, I think they were the OEM of the ones the military used on our sets, but they would have been a special product run due to the special design of the bolt. But they should have something with the proper thread...
Good Luck finding them at HD. This kind of connector is venturing into commercial/industrial electrical component territory...I doubt that HD will have anything. You'll be better off going to an electrical supplier.
Yes, they are a standard size nut from a "split Bolt" type of connector. Measure the best you can the outside diameter of the threads and then measure the threads on some at any electrical supplier. You'll need to buy the entire "split bolt" as they won't sell just the nuts.
Don't worry about the control panel. Even with the strongest winds, it will stay dry.
Don't believe me, drop the panel cover and look at the way it was designed. The panel overlaps an angle bracket on all 4 sides of the cover by at least 1/2". The worst that can happen is water get's behind...
WOW!!
Looks like someone at sometime might have tried to use ether with that engine. I can't think of any other way for the piston to break like that. Even running it without oil would have done different damage (I would think), and probably to both cylinders as well
Good luck with that. Have you seen the polls on here???? Not only do they vote on the poll, but still write in what they need....so you may be counting double
I can't say with 100% certainty, but I think you may have other issues at play here. I would think the truck should still start without the glow plugs. It's not that cold out yet. Unless you are in the great white north.
I have a line on a bracket as well... ;-)
I just looked tonight when I took the transmission off of the wife's truck, the fill tube has a hole in it right where the rubber seal is at on the bottom....so I guess I need that part as well. But as was mentioned, nothing too hard to find. It won't...
How about that....my case has the "K" on it, and I have the shorter adapter as well. Although my transmission isn't that clean...nor is the bed of my wifes truck now.
The guy I got it from pulled it without draining it...now I have the "Road Oiler II" ATF all through the bed.
Also, he gave me...
I am sticking with the 208, but it just so happens that the transmission I bought came with the 241...so I have the adapter I need already.
Looks like all I need now is the kit for the lockup torque converter, and the TV bracket. Once I get those two things and get the transmission work done...
From what I've read, the proper adapter for the NP208 transfer to bolt to the 700r4 is shorter than the one behind the stock TH400. So, with the longer transmission and shorter adapter, you should be just fine. I cannot speak for the NP205 transfer though.
Wayne I think it will work OK. You may have missed the sentence right before the one you quoted...
And I actually mistyped that one too. I went back and fixed the original post, but it was a typo. The original sentence read...
It should have said a 241 transfer, that being said. I may...
That's a great write up about the 700r4 mod. And timely as well. Since the case of my 400 cracked in GA at the rally, I have to replace it anyway, and I think I am just going to go with the 700r4 mod. I have a line on an 89 model r4 with a NP241 transfer. As I understand from reading, the...
