I made a batch of 70% wvo 20% wmo and 10% rug ... It ran good(Ihave a fuel heater) but had hard start. so I ran it down to a half tank and filled it it up with Diesel bc it is really cold 20-36 lately 12-6-10 Im starting my M1009 with a blast of either. i hope I havent created an either...
Get a marker and mark your battery terminals before removing your batteries...Ie + rear - rear......+F -F This will prevent an unfortunate accidental sparkey, smokey... fusible link mess.
I have a self cleaning WEBB 525 filter water seperator/heater.... it has a ball valve att he bottom that you crack open and lets water and crap fall out the bottom. it does not need to be replaced like spin on filters. There are no "consumables" moree stuff to buy and replace. It works SOGOOD...
I hear all this "Conversion" stuff. I have a 1985 M1009. I get wvo from my church's chicken dinner and fish fry. pour it through one of those supermarket cloth bags to get the junk out. then I run it thru my filtration system... then put it in my tank.
Runs like a kitten. I usually run a mix...
Im running filtered waste veggie oil in my CUCV. a 50/50 mix seems to give me more power than streight diesel. One of these days my secret will get out. I get free fuel all the time.
I took my pressue switch out. got a 1/4 tap... threaded the hole and put in a 1/4 in short screw with lock tight.... Not a drop has leaked since... Be sure to shop vac the little bits of metal from threading , to keep your ip and injectors clean.
i RUN wvo in my m1009 80% ... I just filter it down to 5 micronsand in the tank. I added a webb 525 fuel heater/filter/water seperator before the stock filter. So far so good. I love it.
Moved the batterys to one tray then added my heater.
i have one in my truck... There is a sticker on it that says something about a NBC detector. Its kind of in the way but i dont know if I should take it out, or buy a NBC detector
.
You guys have a classified???? I have been on thios site for over a year and have never found it. Maybe ypou can post a link to where it is. I thought it would be in the forum section clearly marked "Classifieds"... I guess I will have to search a litlle harder.
Wow I was and i think you are refering to the one I was drooling over...in Ft. Cambell Ky. It had HQ on the bumpers, lift gate, 2300 miles and 75 hrs ... It was nice. Sold 12-10-2009
It looks really nice...Has HQ on the bumpers.... This MV thing is addictive. I want it, dont need it. should spend or save my money.... Dont have room for it.... but I want it anyway.... Let me know who gets it. Maybe I can buy them a cup of coffee if they pass thru Louisville.
