Did the new set of 13G's come with the correct size spade connector? I ask because I recently got some from the parts house and they had the wider incorrect spade. Just curious.
Got Jerry Can mount installed... thanks to the CUCVRUS information posted about the correct fastener it was a one trip to the hardware store project. 5/16-18. Tested it out with a fuel can and it’s perfect. I’m sure a water can on the inside is how I’m loading out. Thanks again to everyone who...
Thanks for the reply.... after hours of problems solving I finally got the GEN2 Light on and the meter is charging on the line inside the green. The contact between the wiring harness plug in the back of the printed circuit board was the problem. The orange wire that gives voltage to the GEN2...
Thanks for all the information. Apparently I've been so consumed with the GEN2 light project my mind has started playing tricks on me. Both trucks do have the exact same fasten seat belt light in the same location that lights up when key is on. I must have a low coolant bulb...
This seems like a thread to jump on for this question....coolant level and light related. I have 2 M1009's, they are both 1986 model years but one was manufactured late 85 and the other late 86. The late 85 has a coolant level light on the dash that lights up when the key is on. The 86 has a...
Just found the diode above heater controls, it looks intact but was wrapped in duct tape....also just checked voltage on printed circuit board. 12 volts at gen1 socket, 0 volts at gen2 light socket. key on
I have hit my diagnostic/parts changing lid and could really use some guidance. M1009 50K miles, unmolested mechanically, mine for a couple weeks now. Problem....No Gen2 light on ever. I have done my SS Homework and logged a lot of seat time in front of this lap top and still no success. The...
Nope....Just the outside. The interior looks just like it did when they picked it up at Ft. Leonard Wood. Seats are perfect. I did notice that the seat bases are different than my other M1009, just not as robust, to include two less mounting locations on the floor pan. It was a late 86 build...
Stumbled across this at the County Emergency Management Agency....pumping fuel in my other M1009 some guys says he knows where another CUCV us that won't start and they don't want to mess with it because its 24 Volt.... Couple phone calls and a tow bill later...Score!!!
Swapped out batteries...
This appears to be the most current thread about replacing 6TL batteries and since I am about to buy my first ever pair of 6TL batteries for my m1009 I figured this is the spot for my question.
I see a 6TL Wet and a 6TMFD Dry, they are similar in price at my local O'Reilly's. Wet or Dry is...
Sir...does that AC Delco 13G have the correct spade connector for my factory glow plug harness? I understand some need modified to work. Just curious. Thanks
Ordered a set of Wellman on line, they showed up marked Diesel RX. RX70 on each plug. Called the vendor and he assured me that these are the same glow plug and they will not be marked Wellman. I did a little research and he was correct. Maybe a buy out or something. I did let him know it's...
Thank you sir for the reply...no, did not use any grease, just hooked them back up dry. Put the batteries on the trickle charge last night.....no problem this morning. not sure, but maybe low voltage was the cause.
killing time...being proactive....not sure why, but I decided to clean the dirty looking contacts on my glow plug solenoid. Did them one at a time and got it back together like it came apart. Now.....after about 30 seconds of engine running or key on, the solenoid makes a loud fast clicking...
I've removed what seems to be felt that has been separated from something years ago.....I'm assuming the window tracks should have felt in them. If so, can the felt be sourced and replaced keeping original tracks?
Spent the better part of my "Day Off" Monday replacing master cylinder, rear wheel cylinders and hard lines...brakes functioning as designed...Priceless!!
Next up, rear window regulator.
