I've got the canvas but not the poles. I'd sure appreciate drawings of the polse too, or a chance to see some.
If you can get to Western Illinois I'd let you measure the canvas. We used to have a firm in the area that made tents etc but I suspect thse mosters would be cashy. Does anybody...
This is a duplicate note that's posted on the Transportation forum. Unfortunately that forum is lightly visited so I'm posting here in the hopes of getting additional eyes on it.
I have an M923 5 ton in SC that needs to get to the west edge of Illinois, on I-80. About 850 miles. I will be...
Will be travelling East next week and can extend a bit to go to SC and drive it back, but think it wise to have it hauled.
Anybody out there capable of that haul in about the next two weeks? What's the likely cost?
Thanks much,
Mark
Have given up for now. I've signed in repeatedly but when I try to add a post to the Transportaion forum I get the page advising I'm not authorized or not signed in. The welcome note reflects that I'm in fact not signed in.
I've signed in yet again and appear to be able to post in this...
And by the way.... I only need two. Have an extra for $1500. You'll need to create your adapters. I may have a design available when I get my other two set up for the big multifuel..
I did a little study some years ago... recording miles and hours on trucks with gages that didn't show obvious signs of replacement and discarding obviously odd figures, like 5000 miles and 8 hrs.
Averaged a bunch of trucks and came up with about 22 mph average. Of course this actually...
The purpose of the initial question was to allow insight as to the originality/age of the engine in a truck. Another is to help determine the general age of a truck in the absence of a data plate IF it seems to have a original engine.
Have searched but don't find a list of deuce engine manufacturers by year. Am expecially interested in when White started making them.
Does anybody have this info.
Checking google hasn't helped much.
This thread has stretched out a long time.
I've managed to buy 3 engine rotisseries since I raised the issue... and am working to exchange 1 for adapters for the other two. Hope to have two engines on stands to work into one working engine. Will see how that goes. Expensive buggers.
I'm...
Thanks guys.
I'll reopen the manual for the IP if I can find it Gimpyrobb. Might give a good clue. Got good help in Illinois that might be able to work with me.

Tried flushing the IP of one of my deuces and couldn't get it to work. Pen in the center of the head bounced up and down and liquid was in the sockets of the injector line holes.
I couldn't be lucky enough that it would be easy to repair s spring or other simple component to get it working...
Couldn't start my nicest A3 today... wasn't getting fuel.
From previous experience I pulled the check valve on the top of the fuel tank
(Item 24, Fig 30, TM9-2320-386-24p, page 0031-00) and found the brass plunger gunked up badly, and the O ring a bit mangled. Cleaned and reinstalled it and...
Just talked to Monica and she asked that I advise she made it to the event. Does't have Internet out there because they sorta still communicate with tin cans and drums.
She thanks you for your support (as do I) and will hope that her return trip goes as well.
The truck is pretty well...
BTT.
Still questioning what flushing technique might work to unclog an IP... especially the head. Or is it a waste of time?
Still thinking of using ATF, but intend to disconnect the IP lines at the Injectors so that I could flush the system with a solvent that normally wouldn't be useable...
I forgot to say that we checked the fuel cutoff and it was apparently working fine. And when the plug was remived we got good fuel flow out the hole, so we've got fuel going up that far.
So it seems to be somehow blocked from getting up the lines to the injectors. Sure hate to replace the...
Time for an update.
A friend I gout out in ince weather yesterday to work the IP issue. Verified fuel is getting thru the filters and to the head by removing the stop/plug on the top fo the head and sticking a rod down in to verify that it was shoved up and down... pump is working in there it...
We checked the shutoff and find it working.
I love the idea of flushing with ATF. Will extract the fuel from one of the trucks, put in some fresh fuel and ATF, and see if it'll start. This particular truck looks like it'll be worth restoring... seems to have a nice engine.
The other on is a...
Got a deuce that had been in USAF lot for years... and the fuel is the nasties smelling varnish I've ever sniffed.
Truck turns over well but is getting no fuel to the injectors. It's getting to the IP. Doesn't come out of the whatever-it's-called plug on the side of the head. Seems that the...
