I could also make a long wheelbase tractor...

My 5 ton was making a funny noise and now it won't start....

Sorry, first chance I had to respond. I flat towed it with my M923 which developed a nasty vibration en route to go get the 818. I bought the truck that way to harvest for parts for my M813 rebuild so no idea how it happened as the guy I got it from also bought it that way and did not get the...

Flat towing an M1009...should I pull the driveshaft ?

I sold my M1009 and have to deliver it around 90 miles away . I have to flat tow it with the med duty towbar with my M1008 because I cannot get a second driver. Should I pull the rear driveshaft or can I just put the t case in neutral ?

Can't help you there. Mine was converted when I got it. Looks like a much simpler setup but like you said, cost could be a factor.

Change it to an M809 setup. That is what my M52a2 had and it steered like a dream.

Putting a Deuce bed on an M813 ?

I did consider that but not sure how it would look. The M939s also have the stack taking up space. Thought about using a toolbox/spare tire rack from an M39/M809 series.

Putting a Deuce bed on an M813 ?

Hey anyone ever try it ? I realize a million threads on putting a Deuce bed on an M818 tractor but I'm thinking about doing it to an M813. I have an 813 that needs a cab and bed. I have a deuce I cut up for parts with a clean cab and bed. The Deuce bed looks like it will fit without shortening...

M813 needs air cleaner, is M939 the same ?

Ok thanks let me know. The M39 series one on it is missing the internals so it's junk anyway. Rather than get the missing hardware, rather get the right setup.
