I don't know of any fourwheeling places open to the public in York. Does anyone in the area own a farm or a decent plot of land. I'd have it here but my acre and a half won't cut it.
I can't even take a break on Holidays. Got 2 hours of sleep after working 12 hours on night shift last night. Went to lunch at my parents, came home, and headed to the garage. Pulled the radiator which looked like it was filled with slimy chocolate milk instead of antifreeze. Also disconnected...
Everything so far was done with a $20 harbor freight needle scaler. Didn't know they had a bigger scaler until a day or so ago. This one is working pretty good so far though. I think I'll stick with it.
When I was thinking about buying my house (an 8000sq ft stone grist mill built in 1813)...
I'll try to keep up with pics as things progress. I'm sure there will be some down time waiting for parts here and there.
If anyone thinks of things I should look at and fix/replace while I have the deuce stripped down, please let me know. Any advice or suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks in...
The deuce is finally titled, registered, and insured. So, I started disassembling her this past week. I've got about three days in it so far. The plan was to do a decent clean up and sand down for paint. Now it looks like I'm going to go a little deeper.
The old bed had some small spots of...
Wow... any finished pics of your deuce? I grew up in Annville. Live not too far away in Lancaster county now.
I started disassembling my deuce this past week. Got about three days in it so far. Using a needle scaler to clean up the frame, hubs, axles, rears, etc... Bought a harbor freight...
Here is the website for Reading Anthracite Access passes. They sell passes starting in January. The passes are well worth it. You get a black and white map and are basically on your own to roam where you want. There are two security guards for the whole place. Only met one once in the past...
Reading Anthracite has 20,000 + acres of land to ride on. Passes are $100 a year to ride anywhere they're not actively mining. Planning to take the deuce up there once it's back together.
Thanks everyone. Read most of these posts already. Seems like most of the tools are pretty standard. Might have to see what Sears has as pig tanks so I can use the deuce comprssor to run my impact. I need to save up for the IR 2135ti impact too.
When I say overhaul, I guess I really mean going over everything to be certain it is dependable. Plus, my roomate is a diesel mechanic and willing to assist. I figure while I have the knowledgeable help, I'm going to learn as much about this truck as I can. I bought a nicer bed from an SS...
I bought a deuce last month and have been getting ready to overhaul it this winter. The garage is cleaned out and ready to go.
My brother is delivering a 5 ton gantry lift tomorrow. Should make lifting the heavy stuff much easier. (the engine lift worked for pulling the tranny right after I...
Saturn is a great place to deal with. Been there in person 3 times in the past month. I'm sure they would refund the cost if necessary.
From what I see, a little blasting and some paint and it'll be like new. Ceramic coating would be even better. I've come to expect some imperfections...
I can't believe the difference in looks when switching to singles. I'm in the process of stripping the deuce down to repaint and replace some parts. I'd love to replace the stock NDT wheel and tire setup but the cost is more than I have in the truck. What is a reasonable price to pay for a new...
Wish I could have made it. Been at work since 7PM last night (still here) and have to go back in tonight at 7. Guess there is always next year. Should have bought my Deuce at the beginning of summer instead of the end.;-)
Maybe I'll disassemble it and see if I can weld some metal in like Dave. Can't hurt. It's useless to me the way it is. Got a bungee cord holding the door shut now. Probably won't pass PA inspection that way.
