I've been thinking the same thing. Even if the bolt pattern is the same, I'm pretty sure the gear ratio is different - there is a string somewhere here where a guy bolted the front of an M818 tractor to an MK17 trailer. In one of the recent posts he was still wrestling with the ratio difference.

It matches the dead one I pulled out - not a spark plug - the tip is a rod with a coil wound around it.

If the front axle is disconnected from the tires, and therefore not rotating, won't the transfer case sprag engage and drive the front end anyway (as though on a slippery surface where the rear tire speed would exceed the front)? So you're still driving the whole front-end, but not scrubbing...

Getting ready to flip the rear hubs on the M813. Can anyone give me the preload and lock-nut torque specs for the wheel bearings? Is there a 5-ton specific procedure written up anywhere? All I can find is deuce write-ups on it. Oh yeah - torque values for the axle flange and brake drum bolts too.

I'm installing Michelin XL's 14 x 20 on two-piece HEMTT rims with beadlocks. I have the beadlocks in the tire - what is the correct lubricant to use between the beadlock and rim? I'm concerned that if I use regular dish soap I may never get them apart again.

Where do I find them? I have six (6) brand new HEMTT rims less valve stems and beadlock rings. They are 20x10 rims and I am mounting 14x20 Michelin 14x20 XL's. I am looking for beadlock rings - not runflats. Thanks
