    Where to use rtv on oil pan?

    Yes you do have a cam plug but they rarely leak. You may have a valve cover leak annd it is running between the bellhousing. Check to see if what your leaking is not diesel sometimes the pump leaks and runs down the back of the block.

    good price for a 1008

    Best I can say is look for deals, you may pay more for the truck but if it has what your looking for such as big tires, reciever hitch , lift kit, good interior, low mileage, no rust. I know I don't have 7,000 dollars in mine but that would be my asking price.

    Pressure plate fails...

    I have used a tap and threaded the bushing and then screwed a bolt in and pushed bushing out, but I now have the puller which works great most of the time.

    May work once, May work longer but it will not last. Save the time and find the proper starter.

    High Volume/Pressure Oil Pump?

    My CUCV runs around 45 lbs. when cold . After reaching normal operating temperature at idle it runs around 20 lbs. which is fine. A high volume pump is not a fix for worn out parts.

    May be piston slap due to worn wrist pins and cylinders, starting fluid in excess is bad on these parts.

    Transmission leak

    Don't know if this is your problem, but also check the fluid level in your transfer case. I f you remove the fill plug and see trans fluid comming out you may have a bad front seal inyour transfer case. This seal is double lipped. It seals the transfer from the transmission, sometimes it fails...

    Parking pawl my be broken, or transmission may have been replaced with one from a HMMV. which doesn't have a parking pawl. Either way just drop the pan and take a look. Can be fixed without removing trans.
