I like the C turbo for long trips. Once I get up to speed, the shrill of the C is above my range of hearing. My muffled insulated D truck hurts my ears at cruise speed. C with hearing protection (stock) D without (muffled, insulated cab, air seats)
This is a tire I bought. It was replaced by the seller with a good one. It was very dry with cracks on the sidewall. It also left black marks on your hands when you touched it and even on sand when backing out of the garage.
Is the white paint on the sidewall a way to mark the bad tires or...
Does anyone know what size O rings are used in the HH. I need to replace mine and I would like to get the parts here before I start the job. I would like to prevent a day of driving around to every NAPA looking for the right part.
The deuce that I bought that said "driven in" had a bad transmission. I did drive it home, in second gear. I was about 25 miles away. The trip took longer than expected though.
It looks like you have it figured out. My remote filter setup uses Ford type filters. They have a high burts rating than the Chevy. Make sure you get good filters, because you don't want to loose your oil or tear the filter material inside.
Can you post a pic of the broken block?
I put a remote filter on a smallblock chevy. It is a little smaller than the filter base, but not by much.
Tapping the oils holes might be the way to go. Make sure you use a good filter if you do not have a bypass. I run wix or K&Ns, on my truck...
Deuce transmissions are very easy to remove. There are no crossmembers holding them up, only the bolts on the bell housing. They also do not have a front seal. If they are over filled they will leak out the front.
No pic of the front but one of the trans comming out.
I turned up the fuel on one of my trucks a lot, something like 3 or 4 turns. I had a pyro installed. It still would not go over 2200 RPMs. After looking into adjusting the governor, we found the return spring was too strong and prevented full throttle. After changing the spring, we turned...
My dad has a salvage yard and he hasn't had any NV4500s for a long time.
One more thing about the 4500 and NP205 combo is the gear noise. It gets loud on the highway. I wear hearing protection for long highway trips. I put extra insulation on the floor too.
The 700 will not last long...
The NV4500 has a slightly higher overdrive ratio. I have two trucks that have the NV4500 and a 700r4, but hey are both civy gassers.
I have the 6.51 first gear ratio in the trans, 4.56 gears, and 35 inch tires with the 4500. I rarely use 1st unless I am in sand. It keeps me from going...
The covers have been on since last winter. They seem to be holding up well. One zipper was torn, and I had a boat shop sew it closed. The guy asked me not to bring it back bc it was too heavy and too hard on the sewing machine.
It is still at my parents' house. I am waiting for the bank to approve an offer on a short sale, so I had to get it ready to move. It will be nice when all my stuff is not spread out across the state.
I still have to fix a leak in one of the hoses on the bottom of the IP.
I parked my deuce in September when I left for New Mexico. I am in the process of buying a house and I needed to get it running again so I can move.
Chalking it and not using the E brake is a good idea. Mine was making noise and I left it off for the winter.
The batteries are very...
