new, deuce one piece 22.5" rims??

I wanted to get a Superduty, but it was over my budget. I just got the deuce and made it quiet with some road worthy tires. The Superduties at work get 6 to 10 MPG empty, but they have a lot of idle time. I got 8.9 MPG during my move with all my belongings in tow. I am sure Ed will post...

    Tires from 92356 to 88011

I will need to have eight or nine 11.00r20s, two 14.50r20s, and possibly some other items moved from 100dollarman's place to Las Cruces, New Mexico to FMJ's house sometime in the next month or two. If anyone is going to be going through the area, or get the items more east, let me know. I will...

new, deuce one piece 22.5" rims??

Here is a link to some other pictures of the wheels on post #41. I ran the bus tires because they were the tallest tire I could find at a reasonable price. The truck spends about 99% of the time on the street and the tires work well for that. They work well on wet streets and in snow...

new, deuce one piece 22.5" rims??

I do not have any other pictures of the wheels that are any better than what I posted. The wheels came off of medium duty Ford trucks. I believe Ford used them in the 70s and 80s, but I am not 100% sure. Some of the trucks had split rim 20 inch wheels on them too.

new, deuce one piece 22.5" rims??

The front tire has the 22.5" Ford wheel. I got the wheels for $35.00 each and the used bus tires for $100.00, mounted on to the wheels. The truck is currently 1800 miles away from me. I think they are 385 or 395 XX XX from memory...a shade under 44 inches tall is what I do remember. If...

    Cutting wood with the Deuce

I was there for the whole ordeal. Ed wouldn't let me touch the saw, so he cut I loaded. I was glad he waited until the end to put the blade in the dirt. I was getting bored standing around waiting for him to cut the pieces. Next weekend we might take two trucks up there.

    Long term storage

I am going to be using the truck to store some of my stuff when I am gone, so I want it to be parked where it is parked. I like the idea of not using the E brake. It was a southwest truck and is starting to show some signs of being up north. It is starting to get some rust and the E brake...

    Long term storage

I will be headed be headed back south for 3 to 16 months on September 8th. What should I do for long term storage for a deuce? It will be outside exposed to northeastern Ohio winters. No one will be available to start or drive it while I am gone. I was planning on spraying it with oil and...

    Any tricks for cable?

I use a mix of ATF, Marvel Mystery oil, and WD-40. When I run out I am going to try the acetone ATF.

    newbe wants your thoughts.

My truck will be just fine acting as my storage shed. I am going to coat it with oil and bring a friend back from the southwest so it isn't lonely anymore.

    newbe wants your thoughts.

If you want to go for a ride let me know before next weekend. My truck is at my dad's shop in Mantua about 30 or so minutes from Medina. I find out on Monday if I am going to New Mexico for a while, so I might have to move in two weeks.

When Adding a Muffler Do You Adjust the Valves?

I put the NAPA straight through 2148, if I remember correctly, muffler on my truck. I noticed no difference in power or pre turbo pyro temps. I still had to use hearing protection for the gear noise above 45 or so until I insulated the cab. I am no expert, but I don't think a straight through...

OIL press and air pump belt

I have the same problem. I ran a mechanicle guage and oil pressure is good. The wires on the back of the guage seem to be the problem. If I wiggle them it will work. I put on a new sender and I still have the same problem. Once I get time to fix it I will, but for now I just watch the...

    Rustolem Paint Job

I painted the underside of my Toyota with rustolium. I thinned it with what was recommended on the can and sprayed it. It looks good after two years. My brother painted a winter beater with Quality Farm and Fleet tractor paint with some hardener in it. He drove it for a year before the...

Cleaning Engine Compartment - Whats a safe way to do it?

I use Purple Power and a garden hose. Purple Power is good at getting oil off driveways too. I found it at Lowes and Autozone, but every store carries it.

    deuce transmission disaster...(pics)

Thanks for the info. I have my rear driveshaft removed. My truck sees 99% on road miles. I have not noticed any bouncing so far, but I will keep an eye out on the bumpy roads. Have you tried running the lockouts in the rear axle to see if the bouncing stops?
