I feel odd driving my M886

I drive mine all the time. I get lots of positive comments, requests for pictures, salutes, even got a couple free car washes with it. I felt a little funny driving it at first but now I don't think twice about it. Have fun!

    MT-1029 help please.

I'm trying to install an RT-524A in my Deuce. I have an NOS MT-1029 mount with an NOS CX-4720 power cable. The problem is when I touch the positive wire(s) to the positive post on the battery I get a large arc. This is with the mount installed without the radio and it does it whether the...

    FDC bypass info (yes, again)

O.K. where might the droop screw be and how much would I turn that one down? I don't have all the manuals yet. As far as smoking goes I don't get any at idle, just a little when I step on it. Believe me, all the help I get here is GREATLY appreciated.

    FDC bypass info (yes, again)

Thanks for your help guys. The good news is I got the FDC bypass and oil change completed and took it for a test drive. I ran the fuel adjustment in about .100 which appears to be about right as I have a little more power but not much. It still starts easily without having to push on the...

    FDC bypass info (yes, again)

O.K. from what I understand here I have to turn the fuel adjustment nut counterclockwise to reduce the fuel flow. How much do I turn it? Thanks again

    FDC bypass info (yes, again)

Trying to bypass the FDC due to lots of fuel in the oil so hopefully this will fix the problem. Please check my work here, I don't want to tear up anything. I read all the FDC posts and just want to verify that I did it right (or wrong). 1. I installed the fuel line from the final filter...

    Registering Deuce in Arkansas

I just got mine registered too. Did the same on insurance, State Farm commercial policy but they wouldn't let me get antique tags because they said it was too heavy. Had to get regular truck tags. This was in Hot Springs.

    Bad trip.

Just spent a month trying to get the Deuce ready to attend the "Cowtown Warbird Roundup" (Airshow, sort of). Replaced all oils (engine, tranny, transfer, diffs.), replaced the oil pressure regulator and gauge. Triple checked everything, went on a couple 40 mile test drives. All is well. So I...

    Oil Pressure problem (maybe)

Got a '72 M35A2 LDT-465-1c Whistler. 35,000 on odo. 215 on hour meter. Oil looks fresh. Did a lot of searches and got lots of good info but still not sure what's up. Maintenance manual is on order. I was getting a very low pressure indication so per the info I got here I installed a Sunpro...

    Finally got a Deuce!!!

Thanks for the comments. I got this one off ebay out of Pennsylvania. I looked around here (Arkansas) for a while but everything was junk. Talked to the seller, got a warm fuzzy and went for it. Truck is nicer than I hoped for or expected. The only thing missing is the radio but since I happen...

    Finally got a Deuce!!!

'72 M35A2 w/w Continental LDT-465-1C 35,000 on the odometer, 215 on the hour meter. Depot overhaul/rebuild? Tires are in great shape, spare is new. Absolutely everything works. Should go nice with my '77 M886.

    Source for M886 leaf springs?

Where might I get some leaf springs for a '77 M886? NOS would be nice but after market springs will do. I can get the 3 leaf front ones from Saturn Surplus but I need the 6 leaf rear ones. Thanks

    '77 M886 Alt. gauge meltdown.

Thanks for the great info, guys. I guess I'll try a new voltage regulator to start with and bypass the firewall connector as it looks pretty ugly.

    '77 M886 Alt. gauge meltdown.

Driving my '77 M886 and saw smoke coming from under the dash and noticed the alternator gauge was pegged on the charging side. At idle the gauge drops to the middle then swings wildly side to side, rev it up it and it pegs out again. I pulled the gauge cluster and the gauge was melted to the...

I need the upper retainer for the kickdown linkage. Got one or know where one is? Thanks!

    power steering conversion M886

I'm glad you asked about a conversion as I am considering one as well. I'll be watching to see what responses you get. I'm also curious about your engine. Did you have it built or is it a crate engine? My engine is starting to go bad, heavy knocking under load, cutting out, weak on power.
