Not sure what plug you have on your truck, but this thread may help:

With maintenance I have seen several hundred k on the 6.2s. What they don't hold up to is excessively high RPM for too long. The truck CUCVs were never meant to run 70 down the interstate. 4.56 gears with no OD puts the engine speed sky high.
Re: Duba diesel bag fillters
I use the Duda Diesel filter bags with the adapter that has 1" threads. I have a cheap 1/2 HP pump from amazon that has actually far exceeded what I expected for its price. I stack 25, 10, then 5 micron bags to progressively filter in one pass. This extends the...
I'd check all the glow plugs and make sure they are working correctly. Complete the resistor bypass as well if you haven't already. I rarely see sub-teen temps, but have never had a problem starting my truck in the cold. Add on warmers are nice though and easier on the truck.
Before you change the fuse you need to know what caused the short. I would physically trace everything on the circuit that blew/ melted. Replacing the fuse without finding the short may result in the same outcome.
There are a few CUCV electrical gurus that will probably chime in...

When you say runs hard with load, do you think it's dropping to 7 or less cylinders?
I did not move mine forward, and have had no problems at all. No tire contact when loaded and off road at all. Keep in mind my truck is an on/off road work truck. Not a rock crawler etc. If you plan to be in sticky mud a lot I would consider the zero rates and move the front axle forward to gain...
Mine was bypassed. It never did anything but cause a cascade failure of most of my glow plugs. It serves no purpose that I can think of beyond cold starts with totally dead batteries on the slave.
I bled all the DOT 5 out of the system when changing mine with DOT 3. I believe this is mfg. in Ukraine.

I can not recall the part number, but I did find it here on SS. I would strongly recommend getting one like mine where the main square draw bar bolts to the frame brackets. This allows you to put it on in 3 pieces instead of 1. Leave all the bolts loose until the end, then drive them home with...
