I'm not sure of the "right" way to do any of this, but heres my 2cents! I ran a Positive wire to a switched fuse block, off of one battery (12V) to run various 12 volt lights, occasional radio, etc, and have not had the first problem with batteries yet. I believe the largest item I do run...
Hey all!! Had a question, pondering a thought someone mentioned once! Has anyone known of a "conventional" gas motor and tranny (ie. Chevy 454, Ford 460 etc....) being installed into a duece or 5-ton, and do you know of the performance obtained from a swap, negative or positive?? Just...
Your 100% correct. Most inexperienced people install the cage to the thin sheet-metal floor pans that will only "giveway" in a roll-over when the cage is most needed!! Take the time to do it right, and you'll walk away in the event of a roll!!
RE: tow strap vs chain

Also guys. always remember that the colder it is, the less "actual" CCA's you will have at the starter. I believe the CCA is rated at 72 degrees (which is a beautiful day!), but the colder the day is from there when you start the truck, the...
The housing is "specific" to the bridge truck also as the axles themselves ARE longer than the 5-tons. I was told that the bridge truck assembly is 4" longer overall than the 5-ton. I have pulled a set of my duals and loaned to a friend, and installed correctly with the spacers positioned...
I'd personally put bthe 1400's.....anything over that size and you'll have clearence issues, and take away from overall power. It really depends if your motor has been turned up for the increased heighth of the tire, and how much clearence u do have.
