How do I get a 6BT Cummins started after it has been sitting for a while?

Oh yeah, would it be a bad idea to blow compressed air into the IP? I wanted to make sure it was cleared out.

How do I get a 6BT Cummins started after it has been sitting for a while?

I just removed the brackets blocking the lines and the filter location. I then pulled the mine from the pump to the filter housing. Then as I was pulling the pump so I can check it out I realized there is a question I should have asked a lot sooner. What is the lever for on the fuel pump?

How do I get a 6BT Cummins started after it has been sitting for a while?

This is what I am looking at now. There does not appear to be any fuel getting through the IP. Also, what I thought was new fuel in the injector lines is actually old fuel. New fuel is getting to the pump, but from there I do not know what is happening. The electrical connector right above the...

So I guess that is something that has to stay on the truck. If I take it off I will not have a way to shut the engine off.

How do I get a 6BT Cummins started after it has been sitting for a while?

How do I get a 6BT Cummins started after it has been sitting for a while?

I have a 5.9 12 valve Cummins in a Dodge that was converted to a military aircraft tug. Everything from the cab up is a standard non military based truck. When I got the truck it ran but had old fuel in it. That caused the truck to shut down and not restart two years ago. Well, I have cleaned...

Anybody interested in free track skirting?

I just wanted to let you all know, it looks as though these parts are going to a very good home. The museum in Houston will be taking them on. It sure does feel good to know they are going to help some MV's be reborn.
