Could be thermostat broken. That will cause no heat but also an overheat as the coolant travels to quickly to absorb heat. Also when the truck is ice cold start it up and see if the upper rad hose gets hard immediatly.
well....there is a way to sorta fix that...If the block is broken anyway what you can try..and again this is only if the block is broken and no other way...put the starter in with the one good bolt and the rear support and have a welder mig the nose of the starter to the trans TCC cover. I...
IN the end it still is 6.2 Smaller batts should be fine but I do like those big ones but here's a question...Has anyone successfully moved the firewall Batt to the pass side ? I want to free up space there for a possible 6.5 turbo setup. Otherwise I was thinking of tossing the batt trays...
well, Some idiots put 24v glows in my CUCV. No wonder it was hard starting. FWIW I checked my glows with a voltmeter and had around 12v. The worst part is they went through the trouble to make little adapters to make the 24v's work with the round terminals.
They are discontinued. I got them at a swap meet. I'm pissed though. ONe of the rims has a crack that is leaking air. it was repaired once already sloppily. I'll probably never find another one. I'm gonna bring it to a place that restore/repairs wheels tomorrow.
I don't know yet. I'm waiting for the lugnuts. I just sat the wheel on it. I think they will clear because the BF's are only 12inches wide. a 14.5 may not. I'll post back when the lugnuts come.
you can pull them and put them in a vise and put power to them. Only the tip should glow. You can use a test light without pulling them but I forget how and it will only find dead ones not semi dead. I went through this today. Some idiot put 24v glows in my CUCV. No wonder it was hard to start...
Hmmm... I wonder what was done to mine ? Someone made connectors and put round ones in my CUCV. I gotta put a volt meter on them. I got a feeling the idiots at fleet Main put the wrong glows in and made them fit.
a CUCV , unlke it's civvy counterparts can start without glws due to the 24v starter. Takes a bit but it will. although I would not use it in any other circumstance ether could start it as well as the fact that my CUCV is getting a manual override anyway for the glows.
ESO is basically an electro magnet, not a silicone chip etc. I don't think it would be affected by EMP other than momentarily AFAIK. I believe the CUCV's are suppoed to be EMP proof. It's the same setup as a Humvee and those are no ?? Not sure on this. I could see the EMP disruting the ESO...
nuclear blast. Anything mechanically injected with either manual or non electronically controlled Auto's should not be affected although as previously stated no one really knows for sure the effect of EMP on elect veh's.
A CUCV will take a pretty good beating if you ask me. I got a 100 ngal fuel tank in mine. It will get me pretty far. remember aside from legalities , which in a Bug ouot sit are meaningless, these trucks can run on kerosene, heating oil, vegatable oil as well as diesel. Some have even mixed in...
It's most likely the lift pump . The mech ones IIRC have a check valve that goes bad. I personally dislike the mech LPs anyway. I'm changing mine over to electric. This is a very common problem with 6.2 of this vintage both mil and civvy. You could try a new mech LP or put a check valve in the...
I'm so pissed though. No one carries 9/16 shank style lugnuts for my Redneck/general lee wheels. I had to mail order them from Summit. I sat one tire on anyway. Looks cool. Hard to believe it's only a 4 inch. Looks more like 6 to me.
