You should trust CARNAC on this one Chuck, he knows what he's talking about. If you got your deuce from GL, I'm willing to bet money that when you get your SF-97 back, it's only going to have the 9 digit SN on the form...if you get a FL title it will be the same way. Mine was, and I had a heck...
Not to say "I told ya so" ;-), but I told you when you were looking that you would love it once you got one. They are animals!!!!!!!!!
Carl,
I think yo might be on a good path, a very close inspection for air leaks will not hurt anything. Also, the preheat really isn't needed on a warm engine, but it will not hurt anything either.
I'm curious, how did your oil look when you changed it the second time, after running it such a...
First off, welcome aboard dirtman, you've come to the right place if you want to learn a lot about your generator, there are a lot of knowledgeable folks here to assist you.
If your set was out of fuel, try leaving it in the prime/run position for about 30 seconds before you try to start it up...
The white smoke could mean a loss of compression. One of mine does this out of one of the two front cylinders, it too clears up when it's warm. The set with the white smoke problem starts harder than the one that does not smoke. It should fire right off even at 45 degrees. I just ran mine...
The blue loc-tite isn't a NECESSARY step, but I don't want to have to go through the hassle of re-tightening those bolts again. I always use a touch of the blue stuff on things of this nature. DO NOT use the RED or you will be burning the bolts off with a torch!
I don't think it's because I...
I must be the only one here who thinks it better to pull the tunnel and passenger seat out to do this job.
I agree fully with everybody else, pull the old bolts out one at a time and clean them good to get the grease and oil off of them, replace the nuts with new ones...I believe these are the...
If you use your head, you can easily run most of your stuff on a 5KW set.
First and foremost, don't do laundry and run the AC at the came time...pretty simple. Electric dryers and electric stoves/ranges use a ton of KWs. If you are smart about your loads you will not have an issue. If you...
That looks like it's going to be an awesome camper project, and I too liked the blue camo at the GA rally. I can't wait to see the progress and the finished project at the next rally.
That's the great thing about this site, no matter how obscure the piece of equipment is, someone has a lot of knowledge in that field or has worked on them before.
Welcome aboard, there is a ton of information out there for the reading.
Grab the TM's out of the resources section and start reading, they will help you out tremendously in expanding your knowledge.
Good to know. If you decide to go with the digital meter, let me know how it works out. If my frequency gauge goes out, I'm not spending the money on surplus parts for that end of it, I'll go with the e-pay stuff.
That particular meter and transducer has absolutely no affect on the running or...
