Hey all,
I am still in the process of getting a time and date set up with Captain to pick up my command post tent I won in FL last month, but while I'm working on getting that squared away I was wondering about tent repair kits.
I know they exist!
I have seen ones with needle and thread which...
Nice truck, and a great adventure story to tell over and over at the first rally you get to go to...Ya know...Maryland isn't too awfully far from the GA rally next October.
I'm glad you made it back in one piece and that Sprout made the journey well...the deuces are truly a joy to drive around
If no-one else can get it there, I'm only 3 hours from Gimpy's place ( I have some stuff to get to/from him anyway) and I'm only about 11/2 hours from Charleston
I may be late jumping in here, but I'm in the South-East corner of Ohio, and I could make a relay with someone to get it closer to VA or drive it over myself if it get's close to me...Let me know if you need any help with it.
well, I tried the link for the CR seal above and it doesn't work...applied is having troubles. If you search their home-page for Item #1558980 that is the CR seal you need...it is also quite a bit more expensive than the Timken seal.
Here is a link to Applied Industrial Supplies, they are one of our distributors (I work for Timken), that seal is made from teflon, as you can see in the product page I linked.
Here is a link to the CR part# 49927 "Viton" seal from Applied Industrial, you can compare the two seals on some of...
OK? is it possible that this has something to do with engines that have the rear main carrier in place? Mine has no carrier, and with or without holes in the seal, it would make absolutely no difference in oil returning to the gallery.
The 49927 CR part number is the one with the "Viton" flouroelastomer seal, and should be quite a bit more expensive than the regular seal.
I used the CR part # 49928 seal in mine when I did it...it's just the regular rubber seal, but I'm a cheap a$$ and didn't want to spend the money on the...
My vote is no to all the media.
I'm very proud of my hobby and like to show off my vehicles as much as anybody, but these rallys are supposed to be an informal gathering of friends to have fun and swap/trade parts, drive on the trails and tell stories around a campfire. Any media presence...
Butch,
I'm sorry that you and your friends got snubbed, I don't think anybody would intentionally do that to someone just because they didn't have an MV with them. Honestly, I don't even remember seeing a tan deuce with 395's on it, or any of the jeeps you described.
My current plan for next year is to provide the electric power for the rally.
I'm going to strip my lube trailer out and mount inside of it one of my MEP-003a 10KW sets. insulate the inside a little for noise abatement and mount a light tower on the side of the unit. I also plan on having a...
mdmorgan and poppop. I'm very sorry to hear that you guys both lost valuables, I surely hope you get them back or at least can contact the proper agencies and get things canceled before something bad happens.
Glad you're feeling better Tim, I agree with Jim, SS has got to be the friendliest and most helpful group I've ever seen.
Here are the few pictures I took. Just hanging around camp and the first one if of the "early Birds" waiting for the group to start showing up.
Clinto, once again, you put...
Bob,
Those are some awesome angles you got of the "Burying of Gimps deuce" I did....do you have any more? I also saw you snapping some of the trucks on the first mudder course, I'll bet those turned out good.
I'm still surprised nobody has any posted yet with the "stepped" hill climb, that we...
Gimp,
I finally rolled into home at 0600. I was about 1/2 hour out of C-bus and couldn't take it any longer, I had to park for an hour and catch some shut-eye...but I made it home in one piece to see the smiling faces of me lovely wife and daughter when they woke up.
Thanks for dragging my...
poppop,
Gimp's deuce was wedged in there pretty bad alright, I was doing the driving when that episode went down, believe it or not, the cable that got pinched was just a small wire for a 12 volt plug he installed before the trip...once the wire burned off it cleared itself right up.
We were...
Hey all,
I just woke up from getting back home at 0600 this morning...Chris and I got stuck for about an hour in traffic in TN, and hauling the "Wendy's Tipple Stack" trailer set-up home took longer than expected.
I didn't take hardly any pictures because I was just having too much fun, but I...
