USAFSS-ColdWarrior,
I too was going to get the biggest honking generator I could afford until another member mentioned wet stacking quite a while ago. As an electrician I knew full well, that my actual requirements needed in the event of an outage were no where near even the 15KW for an...
15 and 30 KW sets are awfully big for home back-up power...unless you have an awfully huge house.
But the models are MEP-004a for the 15KW, MEP-005a for the 30KW.
The condition codes on GL have an explanation with them. But unserviceable in the military's eyes isn't necessarily...
You're right about that...to turn back my dirt road to get home, I've had to hit the turn twice each time now...I think the turning radius is somewhere just short of that of the USS Ronald Regan.
Congrats but the big question is, what they found, was it actually the right one; or is some other poor sap going to get shafted because of their incompetence??
I don't believe that there is an operating oil pressure listed in the TM. That's why they have the low oil pressure switch. There is another forum called "smokstak" that deals with antique engines, and has a section devoted to MEP's and military gen sets. You might ask there is you really...
Welcome aboard to both of you. This is a serious sickness that seems to be spreading all over the globe. Try to contain your OD flu as long as possible.
That's a great first car...I wish I would have had something like that for a first car.
the leaf blower is probably the best idea, since it's a lot of volume, but low pressure air.
even if you put a regulator on an air line from a compressor to the tank, you shouldn't really trust the regulator...they do fail, and could well turn your tank into a mini bomb
That's a real nice looking trailer.
Were the tanks rusted inside? I'm curious because mine look to be already coated with either paint or some kind of epoxy. I like the extra plumbing to the pumps (valves). That's what I'll be doing to mine when I'm ready for that step.
How does your engine...
:funny: :grd:
If you do a search on the forum here, there is at least one thread with pictures where a member cut down the 14' cover to fit a deuce....didn't seem too awfully hard.
Thanks for the heads up.
Thanks drgreg,
I didn't know you could actually sell ones you had left over :twisted::twisted::twisted:.
If i actually had mine, maybe I could have made a few bucks???
Good luck. Call ahead and make sure your stuff is there...LOL
I do not believe that the Columbus Creekside location is a government installation. I think it is just a GL warehouse where the DRMO ships things to. Also, there was no EUC involved in this auction and GL does pretty much nothing...
BFR, I'll put you on the list, but there was already a lot of interest in them. I'm debating coming to the GA rally this year, I hope I can make it. Either way, I'll let you know if there are any left and if so, we'll get them to GA somehow. Send me a PM!!!
the guy from Philly I was talking to today that gave the scrap to me, was telling me he had to hire a lawyer one time to fight them...they listed a transmission that he wanted but put the wrong picture. He bid on it and won it really really cheap. He said it was like a $20K Allison tranny...
Recovry4x4,
A quick edit for you...I did some more tracking and found those seat risers are used on the M60 bridge launchers, not the trucks like I thought.
