Well I am currently running about 3rd place so I still need some help. I sure would appreciate my fellow CUCV friends voting for my truck.

Guys (and gals), I was cruising the other SS threads and came across a Military Vehicle-Of-The-Month thread. The OP indicated that there were to be only 20 trucks nominated and he already had 19, so I figured What the Heck I would nominate my M1028. Well it seems my CUCV is up against a bunch...
It may be, could be, helpful if you read my rebuild thread. Like yourself, I was a MV newbie when I purchased my M1028 in early 2010. I've been working on it off-and-on for 4 years and am almost finished. I have learned a lot, and still have a lot to learn. It has been a truly enjoyable...
I went through this same mess when I rebuilt my M1028. The aftermarket replacement rubber is too big and there's no way to glue the dang stuff on where it will stay. After buying the aftermarket stuff from two different outfits and then throwing all of it in the dumpster, I decided to do some...
Hey - I am not a mechanic, but I pulled my IP off and sent it out for rebuild, and then re-installed the rebuilt unit myself. It wasn't easy, but I wrote down every step I took and then installed the rebuilt pump in reverse order. After it was over and done, I kinda enjoyed the whole process...
Make sure you visit the Silver Dollar Saloon on the square in Jackson. It is about a 175 mile drive from Jackson to Cody. If you drove it straight through it would be a 4 hour drive, but you want to plan on plenty of photo stops, so plan to leave early in the day. You will be driving up past...
You can run 9.00/16 NDT on a M1009 with no lift or chassis modification, and enjoy outstanding traction and fuel economy. I ran this tire/wheel setup on a brand new 1983 K10 pickup for over a year with excellent results. The NDT tread gets an unfair bad rap (in my opinion) in today's tire and...
I'm considering re-purposing some spare deuce rims/tires by re-centering them to fit my Ford F-150 4x4 with the Dana Hi-Pinion 44 and a Ford 9" rear with 5 on 5 1/2" pattern. Your truck looks great on those 1100's. I'd be happy running 900's, especially since I already have them.
I don't have...
Sounds like the steering box to me too. However you may want to check the torque on the U-bolts, and check all 4 spring bushings.
I had to install a new 2WD box when I installed cross over steering. I still have my original box which only has 12,000 miles. You are welcome to it for the cost...
Although my M1028 had only 12,338 miles when I purchased it, the truck spent its entire life mostly parked on a National Guard base in Arizona. After Dependable Auto Shippers delivered it to me in Kentucky, and after a thorough inspection and evaluation, it was obvious that the Arizona heat had...
At first I mounted a set of Balance Masters behind each wheel, but due to the high weight of my tire and wheel combination, they didn't have the capacity. So I took them off and sold them, and installed 15 ounces of Dyna Beads in each tube. Now my ride is smooth as silk. Absolutely no...
"i never said it was a good idea ).
so anyway.... the plan was to get a multiple setting or i think what they called a dual channel ecu. i need one setting where i can save the earth by not burning as much gas, and another setting for the occasional mudding trips.
does this make...
