I appreciate the academics, mechanics, brain teaser, bah bah bah of this thread... I DO. Solenoids are very reliable ( no statistics ) and simple to understand.
If something is going to break on a HMMWV least likely would be the IP solenoid IMO. And if it does, after 58 and counting posts, I...
Following the road you weave... I think the gauge will present data that is needed. The "I don’t think it ever worked" Sorta sends one off the trail of trouble shooting even after flipping all the parts with the good stuff.
Good luck finding some heat.
😡, CAMO
Got to ask... Did it every work? Hoses connected to all the right places? Might be time to plumb in the test guage. Verify voltage to the Cadillac valve too, but you said change of state when unpluged... Soooo?????
Not even summer and starting the year off / on with fan problems. LOL...
What is the fan sensitivity switch? Guessing you're missing 24 volt to the temp switch or wrong switch. Connect those two leads together and fan should disengage.
Could be a BO kick down switch circuit too. Loss of power or any plug disconnect or module failure ... fan will run. Default...
This switch will stop all the electrons loose in the battery box at the flick of the wrist.
Switch would meet any basic Humv battery disconnect needs IMO. (Not trying to switch out an electric winch circuit) Point to what the heck draws 125 Amps. Someone running a laser beam alien defender...
After Action Report.... Note to self, Check this and that.
Following this thread clearly points to knowing your rig. When one straps into a HUMMWV, It's a good idea to have an understanding of the basic and unique features. But in this case, if it was time to stop, that could have been a...
Hey there 86HUMV. Happy NEW Year. That's true... a jacked up NSS would be a problem starting... But OP has 28 Volts all the time. So my big guess is NSS is OK. Voltage feed is out of box and yes thru NSS. That KDS has the "lock out starter feature" (and could be wonkie processor, stuck...
First question... Did it ever work? That version uses a slave relay to drive the starter control 24 volt feed 74A. Very poor design based on multiple relays contacts ganged together to save a buck. Note Chinacom.
From your trouble shooting skills are (y)(y)(y). You have walked it back to the...
All the boxes excite the alternator in the same way. Yes, the 60 Amp alternators output does pass thru the box. (another HumV brain fart)
All others alternator outputs are direct connections to the batteries with the big fat wires. Technical description.
So... you're not Con-Fused, CAMO...
I see NO reason WHY this wouldn't work in theory. Actually a novel idea. BUT BuT but.....
IT DOES raise a SERIOUS concern being a one off as stated in above threads. Clearly an accident waiting to happen.
IMO, Leave it as-is...might come in handy.
Quality rated battery cut-off switch with...
