Here is some more poop on Big Muskie. The Big Muskie is a model 4250-W Bucyrus-Erie dragline (the only one ever built). With a 220 cubic yard bucket, she is the largest single-bucket digging machine ever created. Here are some of her specifications:

Just trying to fit my Vin into a proper date. It's a M816 with a Cummins but not sure of the correct date of manufacture. The engine was replaced in 1985 but that's all I know for sure.
What is an accepted replacement for GAA Grease, Automotive And Artillery (Mil-G-10924)???? The fan hub on the Cummins has a fair load on it and I want to repack the bearings, but, want to make sure I use the right grease.
That's an old Gasser M62, I beleive, not a Cummins, no air filter on drivers fender. Not a bad price but look at it close. It's been civilianized so needs to be checked out close
Does anyone have part numbers for the drive belts on the 250 Cummins?
I'm going to replace all of them and thought I'd check here first.
Radiator is being boiled out now, engine has been flushed and T stat has been replaced. New hoses, water pump gasket and ring, It should run like new, I hope.
Mike you'd be welcome!!!

With a 103 hp engine and 7300 lbs of it's own to move I'm not surprised it didn't preform well, pulling a load like a big gun. Those suckers are heavy!
Far Out John,
Welcome to the Goat herders,
Just use a good shooters ear protectors, no problem.
Like I said, I have a cheap head phone from Harbor Freight that also has speakers, I listen to tunes (Old stuff) when I drive .
Check out www.Gamagoat.com for info on the Goat.
Merry Christmas
Some points made are true, They are thin aluminum, hard to get in and out of, and don't swim well, but beyond that it's an article that's way exaggerated. Yes it's noisy but with halfway decent hearing protection it's great. I use head phones and listen to music when driving. It's comfortable, I...
