Rockwells are really cool axles, the third members and hubs are the same front and rear. And when putting them in a custom truck they can't be put in wrong, they will always turn the same direction. You can even put a front axle (or a rear) in backwards with the pinion on the drivers side and...
Hey Tony, I hope you don't mind but I had to climb in your Goat a couple hours ago :-D, I just made my second trip to get the rest of my stuff. Yours was the first one I have ever seen in person, got to admit they are pretty cool! Nice buy.
I run Rocks on the truck in my avatar and the main reason for not running them is the weight. The drum is 40 lbs and the backing plate with the shoes is 40 lbs, that's 160 lbs per axle! And yes they fill up with mud and that mud NEVER comes back out. If you are trying yo keep street legal it...
Unless something has changed yes you can. I have one deuce with regular "Y" plates and one with farm plates, other guys I have sold trucks to have licensed them as collector so I wouldn't think you would have a problem.
When are you heading there? Or which Wednesday I guess I should say. I might be there this week, if anyone close has room to store a couple deuces for a few days let me know.
That was really cool, I've always wanted to try a deuce in a tug-o-war. I just watched TGW #7 last night, I made the video in a deuce from the snow run in Minnesota. I was trying to spin donuts in my deuce on the ice/snow, it's kind of hard to get one of those things spinning around real good...
I run the Ouverson lockouts too and really like the fact that everything up front is not spinning needlessly. One thing to keep in mind is that they will always hold their value pretty well, plenty of off-road guys would buy a good used set if you ever decided to sell your deuce without them...
Welcome to the site, that sure is a sharp looking truck you got there :-D
Glad your putting it to good use! I think a tan one would look good for your next one!!
I picked up 3 myself from there too, if I could get 4 on my trailer I could haul yours back to my place but I think 4 would be too many. If you need a place to drop one look up "Crazy Jim's Military Surplus", he is on the south side of Little Falls and I have dropped stuff off there before for...
There is a drawing of one on a thread here, I found it a while ago after some searching. Mike won't give out the dimensions so don't bother asking him.
Well I sold a truck to a guy and he had an issue with ITS, well not so much ITS but the MN DMV. MN does not accept the regular forms, I'm just glad ITS called the guy and told him about it before they processed everything. Turns out you have to use the "1993 and older" forms that come with...
Has anyone sewed a soft top by themselves? I have a newer camo soft top that pulled apart from the plastic piece that slides above the windshields. I took it to a place that can stitch heavy material but they said their machine would probably crack the plastic. I almost think it is going to...
I've always just assumed it was just to use a bigger joint. It seems that 99% of the deuces have that bolt in cap type on the rear shaft but I have come across 2 that had a standard looking u-joint but it was even bigger than the bolt in cap style, anyone know what they came off of? The only...
You can use low if you want but that's a lot of quick shifting, I think you'll be fine in high. I have a 1100 gallon tank in the back of one of my deuces that I fill with water from a pond and water the horse pasture and I usually put it in low and let it idle at a slow speed. Well last night...
I just got mine from Progressive yesterday, went through their commercial division. I got a commercial policy for non-commercial use for $396/year. I told her everything about the truck and she knew what I was talking about. I didn't hide anything from her. I got it with just the state (MN)...
