I had one before it would randomly loose spring brakes while driving. Very scary. The brake pads and chambers were all working properly. I replaced the treadle valve, inversion valve and the anti compounding valve and the issue went away. I believe it was the anti compounding valve sticking. The...
Since this is the humvee forum, I have had a few recent reman humvee they had the original year and serial stamped on new data plates. The plate will have a registration number which is usually painted somewhere on the truck also. That being said I could see an unintentional switch at rebuild...
I have a bunch of these gens. Haven't gotten around to setting one up yet. They are popular with the off grid guys since they can switch from solar to APU when the sun isn't out.
The larger 400hz generators are used for aircraft ground power. Avionics run at 400hz. The 5, 10 and 15k versions are too small for most civilian aircraft ground support use. Civilian ground power gens are big bucks. Still some of the buyers are probably mistaking the gens for 60hz use. But...
See if this helps. Go to the air dryer and take off the spin on filter. Reach in where the filter came off there will be a cardboard looking tube. Take this out and then screw the cartridge back on.
The unloader in the air compressor head can get stuck. It's a common problem. Sometimes you can tap on the head and get it to go. Could be a governor issue causing the unloaded fault also. Governor is on engine bay firewall.
I would not bond neutral to ground. You should have a ground rod into the ground at the trailer and a ground wire going from the generator ground post to your house ground. The trailer and gen are bolted together and both are metal so electrically they should be the same point.
Engine serial should be on top of valve cover. Sometimes military rebuilds and removes the label. They usually put something on one end of the motor. The early a1 trucks dont have the engine bay start stop switches.
One bad batt killing the other or some type of drain. Take the 2 good batts. Do left side at the frame and right front spot tape up the extra connections. I run trucks like this all the time. See how it goes. And you can charge and test the other two while out.
