The electric heater isn't enough to overcome fridgid temps. They are probably getting hot. If you have air closed circuit recirculating thru a tent eventually it will start to warm it. It won't take in cold outside air and blow it out hot.
I see your above post where you say you replaced them. There are a lot of valves on the truck. For this issue I would follow the tm troubleshooting flow charts and see where it takes you. Important that no gladhands are blocked off. Will cause all kinds of issues. Could be a treadle valve issue...
I would start with the 3 valves under the drivers side by the steering box. If more than one is bad you can get all kinds of symptoms. Don't plug vents. It never works out well.
The niehoff alternators are used in the majority of military vehicles with good results. The reverse polarity box protects against incompetent battery installers. That function is irrelevant of the alternator used. Civilian owners can choose to eliminate this function, the military will not. A...
The double alt will be a hard sell to most lmtv owners since it requires reconfig of the batts. This will get alot more complicated on A1 trucks with the advanced charging components.
The yellow connection , marked as AC, is actually an AC voltage output off the alternator. If the wire connected to it is rubbing metal or shorted somewhere I could see it causing problems. You can use this output to drive a tach. The factory tach, if installed, is not driven off this terminal...
I have a clutch, fan blade and radiator. The radiator has to go freight. Back to the original post, there are new style wheel valve hosing that eliminate the whole elbow. The hose from the valve to valve stem is all one piece it screws right onto the stem. Not quite as durable as the older elbow...
The first gen trucks the polarity box is basically a diode array that prevents someone from hooking the batteries up backwards. It only protects power to the cab. On a good portion of the A1 trucks they have an advanced polarity box that is involved with charging and the battery disconnect...
The double alt thing is interesting. But the lmtv shares batts between 12 and 24 volt. The niehoff alternator 12 volt output is half of the 24 volt output divided. With 2 separate alternators stacked like that, if you cannot get the regulators to stay exactly in synch with the low being half of...
Sometimes found on front tires on the older trucks. So you can quickly flatten the front tires to reduce height. They lead to nothing but problems though. I recommend replacing them with the regular elbows that the rear tires use.
