X2 on the price, and Dan, are all 6 of your rims the same? I already have my rear hubs flipped out so I assume I would just run them all the same as the fronts. Does OD list these rims and tires on the website? Maybe I missed them.
It's got a good temporary home right now at my place, it's in good company and blends right in with mine-if it wasn't a dump it would be hard to pick out :-D
I may be a little bias but I've seen the quality of both the Detroit and Randy's (OEM) locker...and well you can guess which one I run in my mud truck and I plan to put in my deuce.
I live just north of Minneapolis and can store it for you for free for as long as you want if you can get it to me. It will be in good company with my 14 deuces :-D
I often times find myself searching for weights of specific parts for the deuce, some I can find some I can't. If anyone has actually weighed specific parts from a deuce (ie motor, tranny, t-case etc.) this could be a helpful thread.
Here are a few things I have scaled:
Front axle: 830 lbs...
That is the exact setup I want, I have the radials on my truck with singles but I want those tires and rims just like that! How much were the rims if you don't mind me asking?
I have a very small hole in one of my air tanks on my deuce. It is on the bottom of the tank and not at the weld, not sure how it got there but I need a quick/alternate fix for it for someone without a welder. Would JB weld hold it? Or I thought about screwing a self tapping screw in it but...
I've tried multiple ways to jump a deuce: with a jump pack, the negative on the ground that goes to the frame and the positive of the other battery that goes to the starter, didn't help. Tried my Chevy diesel the same way, didn't help. Jumped it with another deuce with regular jumper cables...
Hey Mike, thanks for the info, at least I know I'm not seeing things. So do you foresee a lot more trucks coming through your base or is it starting to dry up?
Scott
Maybe they're lifting holes, or for attatching a parachute to when dropping them out of a plane. Although I would hope they would use the frame and not the sides but who knows!?
I could have sworn that I was going to watch a Deuce that was in Sparta and yesterday I look and it's gone. I thought maybe it was just my mistake but I'm sure there was one there.
