Who makes the generator? It will be on the data plate. Libby or Fermont. The regulator you have is a libby. If you want to change regulators between brands the entire kit must be used. Regulator, pot, transformer and add a fuse in.
I think you can get away with the 100a with a 24v AC system as long as you have good batts. Adding more stuff on top of the AC will require a larger alt.
You would have to find the correct alternator and bracketing that works for it. And a v belt pulley since the a1s are serpentine. And upgrade some power wiring with the higher current capacity. I did the 200a kit on my truck because I had the kit. The 100a would have been fine for me. Early on I...
You can run it and run the ac without a ground rod I do it all the time. If you are running something off the generator just run a ground wire to a fence or pipe that goes into the ground. Dosnt need to be a thick wire.
50 amps at 28 volts is 1400 watts where as 50 amps at 14 volts is only 700 watts. I dont know exactly how the alternator outputs are taken. It is under rated to begin with as pretty much anything military electrical is. You would have to set up a dual load test of sort to get an actual max...
The contactor is controlled by a panel switch left bottom. It's only for the front panel 3-phase output. The AC unit has power regardless. You can start by using the AC unit in heat mode for a load on the generator.
The 100a rating is at 28/14 volts and is split between the two voltages. Niehoff does not specify a percentage split with these alternators as they do with some others. In theory it should be able to put out a bit more current under normal conditions though. The rating given is under the worst...
No but with the windows open especially on the highway at different speeds you get some tire noise. I have a new set of goodyears on the truck. Makes a bit different sound than the michelins I ran before.
Not really anywhere for me to test it on dirt around here. Not till one of the truck pulls. There's a tug o war about 2 hours from me next weekend I have a lot going on don't think I will be able to make it.
I had my buddy's shop do the locker for me. Took it for a spin around town and up on the highway today. I can't really tell a difference. Maybe a little around corners. The tires make some road noise depending on speed.
If the filter is not full of fuel then its full of air which has to be getting in somewhere. The fuel pump is taking in fuel or you wouldnt be able to drive for the short period. Its a sealed system after the pickup tube. If air wasnt getting in somewhere and you had an issue where the truck...
Why did you take the filter off to reprime? You can crack a line at the fuel pump and press the primer 100 times. The primer pumps all go bad though. If it wouldnt prime up from the hand primer its probably sucking air there. Replace the whole housing.
