There are 2 nearly identical regulators one is 60hz and one 400hz. The cheaper ones are usually 400hz. Aircraft ground power gens only. They are not compatible with 60hz gens. But I have heard of the 400hz regulators being modified to work in 60hz gens. The generator should have under and over...
You can take the keypad out and take it apart it's small torx screws. Look for visible damage. Low voltage bad grounds will cause all kinds of trans issues so of you are having relay chattering on start and you have a bad ground or other electrical issue at the panel I would fix that first. I...
In n, press and hold arrow up and arrow down at the same time for 3 seconds. I have seen a lot of bad keypads. Water drips in around the running lights above the windshield. Had one that would put itself in drive without being touched. Lucky for me the parking brake worked well. Would have been...
I have 2 at havelock and one at Lejune. All my normal haulers are temporarily out of commission. I got Felix to hold the on at Lejune till next Thursday morning when I absolutely have to get it out of there. Would rather pay a member here to grab and store than a tow company but I can have the...
Hold up and down arrows it will go into diag mode and display numeric error codes. Usually it will do 1 then a code one digit at a time then 2 and the next code. Wtec 3 will prevent engagement with a fluid level that's low enough to not be able to operate or cause damage.
If more than one tire is pretty much flat the system has a hard time dealing with that. You will have to air up somewhat manually then see if the system will let you press highway and run flat and air up. All 5 lights is a hardware fault it shouldn't be sending air.
If you are leaking down with the truck off I have come up with an easy way to test the wheel valves. Spray windex around the hoses and connections look for bubbles. Sometimes it's just an o ring or tighten up a hose. Take off the banjo bolt (by hand no impact) get a small plastic bag and rubber...
The wtec3 does a "continuity" test on the trans solenoids before engaging. Its less forgiving than the wtec2 control. Had one with a few nicks in the cab to trans harness was making the wtec3 control error. It came up with bad solenoid codes, since it saw abnormally high resistance in the test...
They go from the batt box to the polarity box under the spare tire then along the frame and up into the cab and bolt to the backside of the panel lugs. Bad batts can cause the same issue. I have seen someone leave a ground off the starter and that happen also.
I found a local tow company to pull it off base cheap but after a day or two they charge storage. Anyone close to Jacksonville? I dont want someone to have to drive all the way from Fayetteville to get it.
That trailer is so darn heavy its just not practical for most applications. With a 1078 you use more than half the tow capacity just on empty trailer weight. The humvee trailers are light and can be used with a variety of vehicles. More practical.
Hawkers need a long deep charge. No trickle charging for them. If you dont have a big heavy duty 24v charger then take them out and charge individually. Minimum 15a charge for 24 hours each. Then put them back in the truck and make sure the alternator/charging system is working.
As they get more popular, more parts availability and more people confident they can deal with the electrical on the trucks there is more demand for them. Surplus prices in general have really been on the rise. Lots of humvees auctioned off every week. Only a handfull of other trucks here and there.
