In the grand scheme of things I have seen a lot worse on the road. But there some politics in the mix so who knows. I can tell you that state level lobbyists can get things done that one would not think legislators would do as long as it sounds ok on paper.
One of the posters here stated he had a title. I can reg/title almost anything over 20 years old with minimal or no paperwork as long as its legit. Does not mean another state has to accept that vehicle for reg even thought I have proper road documentation in hand. But if I am properly reg in...
Alot of this varies from state to state. Dont order a sf-97 that you know is coming stamped off road and dont order a title like that either, that gets put that in the dmv system.
If you have one that came with on road documentation that could be a different issue than someone who submitted off road paperwork to get a road reg. Is your truck registered in GA or you had title only done there?
Maybe I missed it here reading thru, but the humvee in question, was it road registered in GA with a title or sf-97 stamped off-road? Or was it purchased from a civilian and was already road titled in a state? I could see someone in dmv administration looking over the paperwork or during title...
I didnt know there was a sensor for the heater. Maybe on the power board somehow it can see a lack of power to it. I would identify and check the breaker and relay that power the heater. If you have the green pcb power board they can develop bad solder joints and cause issues.
I have had odd things happen when trying to operate with low pressure. If it's working fine now then it should be ok. I keep an extra check valve, among other spare parts, in the truck I drive. Good to have certain spares on hand.
I have seen bad trans harness. The trans harness mates the cab harness drivers side of the hump. Mil connector you can take the grill off and disconnect to check it. Harness runs along the drivers side frame rail. There is a branch off to the throttle position sensor, then heads back to the...
The truck is heavy. It's around 36000lbs compared to a cargo truck at 21000. Not gonna stop on a dime. Air brakes have a half second or so delay when applied. Not as much on newer trucks but the M939 trucks have it.
The cab has air suspension. Not much room to add a seat base the seats are basically on rails that are bolted to the cab floor. You might look into a more padded seat but the truck is a pretty comfortable ride as it is. Especially compared to the older trucks.
