Has anyone swaped the rear axle for the high pinion ?

It's a m1078. Original rear was removed I think it had issues. They used one of my power divider rears in place of the original rear but mounted it a bit forward so it would have a better turn radius for plowing.

Has anyone swaped the rear axle for the high pinion ?

It's a 4x4 the rear axle is just moved forward. I don't think there was much to it. Move axle and associated support forward and make a shorter driveshaft to fit. Used the same rear axle that you got. I have more of them new and used.

Has anyone swaped the rear axle for the high pinion ?

A friend of mine did it for one of his customers. He said the rear axle was moved forward a bit for tighter turning. The owner is making it into a plow truck.

    M1078A0 & M1088A1 dead weight test!

I pulled over 30k on dirt with my 1994 M1078 and had room to go. The 1088a1 should be able to double that.

    Transferable SF97?

Different states have different documentation requirements for reg. CT does not require title for vehicles over 20 years. If the vehicle was previously titled or registered in any state they can look that up and want to see continuity of ownership with bills of sale. They don't care how many...

    Transporting Non-Runners

Someone new to LMTVs or military trucks might be better off buying a running driving truck. From auction or private sale. Even if you get your non runner delivered by a competent hauler if you don't have the capability to move it around or knowledge to get it operational yourself, paying someone...

    Transporting Non-Runners

I prefer not to use GPs shippers. You would have to find a shipper with a winch and ramps or drop deck. Sometime you can find independent guys on uship. I personally don't like brokers.

Added cost probably. I dont think alot of the off site locations they were renting at first worked out well for them.

    Wheelspinner's M1078

You need the primer pump. It's a recirculating system you don't have to open a bleeder to prime. Push pump till hard crank and repeat if needed.

    M934A2 Expandable Off-Road capabilities

The 8.3 with the fuel turned up is like night and day. I never drove any of my van trucks with significant weight in them but my m936a2 wrecker weighs 36k and that goes pretty good with the fuel rate turned up.

    M934A2 Expandable Off-Road capabilities

The fmtv trucks are reliable. You will have to initially work the kinks out of anything. Lmtvs have a larger cab and are all around more comfortable.

I have joined the club ! And yes I have lost my mine !

I dont know if I would spray wd40 into the air system. If the spring brakes are not engaging they may be out of adjustment or other issue.

    M934A2 Expandable Off-Road capabilities

I havent taken it offroad but I have a 934a2 and had a 934 with duals in the past. The 8.3 motor is nicer it will spool quicker with the fuel turned up a tad. The dual tires are significantly more road stable than the singles. Maybe because the truck is a big sail in the wind. If I had to take...

    M1078 LMTV planetary hub setup

I believe the axles are vented to the ctis quick release valves. Maybe something is slghtly out of round causing premature wear.
